SalomonMen's Speedcross 5 Hiking Shoe

I have been purchasing these trainers since speedcross 3 came out and they don't dissapoint. The fit as recommended and very comfortable. Good for all round use and good for off road/Cross running. The only slight down side to these is the grip on wet rocks, it's not the best however the grip is really good on grass, soil and gritty pathways. I will continue to keep purchasing these whilst they make them. Would definitely recommend

I have had several pairs of these, in between have tried other brands but these are the best for comfort and grip. The quick lace is great and secures your foot well.I use them 70% on trails, the rest on the road. The first thing to wear out is always inside of the heel, where the fabric starts to come away. This may just be me (lace tension and how my foot fits) as others have also done this, but this is the only reason I have to replace them (sole lasts week and they have never started to come apart).They last me about 18 months being used 6 times a week.

The media could not be loaded.  Went through trail run with obstacles in a very bad wether.. super grip, super comfort, super.

The fit was sound and today my first 4 mile light jog. Quality good, afforded protection to ankle and toes. Grip excellent. Ideal for gravel, tarmac and rough ground

These were a gift given to someone that has bought these trainers before and found them to be the most comfortable

Hubby loves these -and he has dodgy feet. They were a great price too

Nice and comfortable but split at the same point on each after having them 3 month which is totally unacceptable, I normally get about a year out of my trainers so I won’t be going for these again.

Very comfortable although not water proof I guess allows feet to breathe to stop athletes foot

The Salomon Speed Cross 5s have been my go-to trail running shoes for the past few years. This is my 5th pair of them but the first that I’ve ordered through Amazon. The sizing is consistent, I’m a 10.5-11 (US) and the 10.5 fits me perfectly.The shoes are very comfortable and provide good support and cushion for both on and off road running. The stand out feature is the aggressive tread which provides great traction on mud, snow, loose gravel, scree and grass. While still being comfortable on pavement.I’ve worn them on strenuous hikes (as mountaineering approach shoes) and on many long trail runs. They usually last me 4-6 months of regular use before the tread wears flat under the balls of my feet and I retire them.I’ve also owned the GTX (goretex) version and that was nice but not really worth the extra cost IMO.The worn out shoes in the photos are about 5 months old and ready to be retired. I’m not sure exactly but I probably got about 300 miles out of them.be aware that running on pavement wears them out noticeably faster, regardless I can’t recommend them highly enough!I really hope that Salomon will keep them in the lineup, part of me wants to stockpile extra pairs in case they get cancelled. They’re THAT GOOD!
