Very useful kit for removing heavily glued smartphone assemblies
This comes with almost everything you'd needed to take apart a modern smartphone. Some of the plastic tools and levers proved insufficient. I was able to remove the external cover but the battery was a challenge more of the credit card sized plastic would have helped or something more rigid. There are metal tools for this bit it goes without saying to be careful around the battery. I ended up replacing the battery as a precaution as I wasn't sure if I'd damaged it. To be fair this kit is aimed at screens and previous devices I've repaired have not had such a difficult to remove battery. The kit worked very well on just about everything else internally. I think it is good value for money... you should get at least one repair out of it but you might need to replace the plastic levers. I think this would work better on more conventional devices, mid to low range smartphones. Flagship devices tend to be more complicated. Like my phone...Even then this kit and the replacement screen assembly I ordered and battery I spent less than a professional phone repair. And that's with original official parts.I would recommend that you read the repair guide for your device first. I think this will work for most devices but not all. There will be odd tool that they sell that you might benefit from.

Does what its designed to do
Very good product. My only issue is with the box its supplied in. Compared to other ifixit items, I would say this one is lacking in storage capability and quality. Its a box that yes, can use again, but would need to be careful as its flimsy card can tear over time. I would happily pay more for a decent container. The tips of the tweezers also bent easily.. I had to bend them back on a hard flat surface after first use.The cushion, and plastic triangles were the key winners in this package and worked very well.

good kit
Great kit. Used a few times to open my phone and it worked a treat. . iFixit know what they are doing and this kit is well thought out!

iFixit Stuff Is Always Great
As with the headline, I love iFixit. The brand, what their mission is and the tools. The opener kit was just an extension to my current kit and it has everything I need to get in to a phone or anything like that. I mainly got it for the reusable heat pad which helps soften the glue and the curved tweezers. Everything else I already have but its good to have spares. Its a solid kit!

Disappointed
Well no case to keep things in, and arrived non complete , it’s ok ,,quality is good , bare minimum to open things , but not all, just someIt’s overpriced for what it is in my opinion

Absolutely brilliant
Really well made and easy to use, used in conjunction with the iFixit online instructions, I managed to swap out my dead battery and bring my phone back to life and recover all the photos and appointments I thought I'd lost for good. Worth every penny just for that. The tweezers are excellent quality, btw

Bought primarily for the iOpener, but the other bits a bonus
I did already own some of the other useful tools for working with little devices. I bought this primarily for the iOpener, as an iFixit guide was recommending this for working on a replacement battery for my smart watch. I did the trick! The kit comes with a tray to hold these tools and sections to hold things like screws you might be working on. Good idea, however I tend to use little pots for that, as I think a slight nudge of the tray could send those carefully sorted bits simply flying! Also, the thin cardboard box the tray is in won't last too long and I tend to find the tools never stay in their little slots when put away. Perhaps a solid lid would have been better, as it makes the rest of this good iFixit set seem not well made, certainly compared to other iFixit stuff I have bought. Or perhaps the iOpener could be sold separately?
