Blood Lad, Vol. 2 Review: Good book series for preteens - My son and daughter love this book series-9/11 year old-the later books have some somewhat revealing images of the characters, but the artwork inside isn’t so bad. They love the storyline. I wish manga had more content, they can finish them so fast! Review: The Anti-Hero Vampire - I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I love Staz's crazy, apathetic character and his ulterior motives, LOL. I only wish Fuyumi wasn't quite so clueless.... the phrase big-breasted airhead comes to mind but she isn't quite that bad. In a way, she's a good foil for Staz; and part of me wonders, after seeing her room and home life, if there isn't more to her than meets the eye. I like pretty much all of the characters that have been introduced so far. The pacing seems a bit fast, but I'm hoping this series will last a long time. It doesn't have to be "Bleach" length, but I'm hoping to get immersed in the Demon World of this series, or have a part of the series take place in the human word once Fuyumi gets her body back and Staz finally gets the chance to takea sip.... oh, the anticipation; it's what good mangas are made of! P.S. - the anime isn't bad either, it's one of the few that follows pretty closely to the source manga.

Amazing Series!
This series is comical as well as action packed, and with romance for the shojo lovers! With references to other popular shows, as well as original comedic moments this series has won a place in my heart! The art style is amazing, capturing the creepy-ish feel of being in the demon world without to much 'Tim Burton' rip off symbolism. All the characters are charming and have unique personalities. If your looking for something new, fun and addicting look no further than Blood Lad!

Blood Lad 2
I give this volume 5 stars as well. The plot moves along pretty well and introduces us to some neat new characters. I wish they would be longer though so you didn't have to pay as much to proceed to the next volume. But I still recommend it to the fans already invested.

While stuck in his little sister's prison Staz eventually gets to see his manipulative brother Braz who has his own plans in motion and is more than willing to release Staz' full potential and help resurrect Fuyumi, for a price. Meanwhile Franken is willing to help stop Fuyumi disappearing but only if Wolf is willing to track down an escaped experiment. This second omnibus edition (containing another two volumes, Chapters 11 to20) is another great instalment of the 'Blood Lad' manga and is arguably where the series starts to get interesting. This part of the series includes some very nice action as we finally see what both Wolf and Staz are capable of when using the full extent of their powers but it also remains reasonably funny with some nice references to other anime and manga series. This omnibus also includes some interesting backstory for Staz revealing how Wolf and Staz first met as well as why his brother shot him when he was a child. The characters of the series remain interesting with Liz easily being my favourite. Fuyumi remains a little disappointing but on the plus side she does have some rather sweet interactions with Liz towards the end of the book. As with the previous omnibus, this second book includes a couple of short 'Living in the Demon World' strips, that are quite funny, as well as some colour pages. As well as this the book also includes the artwork that appeared under the dust jackets of the original Japanese volumes of the series. This second omnibus of 'Blood Lad' was very entertaining and is easily worth a full five stars.
