York OEM Furnace 3" Replacement Limit Switch L140, Black, Automatic

Product is visually different than the OEM. In my case Texas Instrument doesn't make this item anymore. The replacement went in smoothly and operates as the original did. Holes lined up perfectly.

Exactly what I needed, to fix our heater and keep the house warm!!!

My York Diamond 80 furnace was flashing red 8 times and blowing cold air. The 8 red flashes are an error code that means the furnace tried to light up 5 times and failed, and is currently in lockout mode. Lockout mode means the furnace will only blow cold air until it is reset. I added a photo showing the location of three York parts typically associated with this error code including this limit switch. I purchased this L140-30 (i.e., open 140*F- close 110*F) limit switch and it fixed my problem. I also changed my air filter. I don’t know why so many people are giving it 1 star for the new look. The specs and dimensions are both correct and it works. The description states it is an OEM product by Replm for York. The original part that came with the furnace was by Texas Instruments for York. Texas Instruments no longer makes this part for York… that was 20 years ago. If you want the original part, go back to 1999. I think it’s more than reasonable to expect parts to change over the course of 20 years. It’s not like anyone is looking inside your furnace to notice the change in appearance. I did have to write the original York part number on the replacement switch, so that the next time this thing goes out I will know what to buy. I docked a star because the product didn’t include the original York part number on it. While it may be easy to find an L140-30 limit switch, I believe the dimensions and mounting holes are not the same across different furnace manufacturers. So basically, knowing the York part number is important so you can find a switch with the correct physical dimensions.

It’s working, Had to use it because I don’t have heat. but am not sure how long it will last. It look like a a very cheap third party product and not the same as the one in the picture. Very cheap quality

So I just installed this part and it definitely was the problem. I tried to source locally here in Phoenix, but found that to be impossible, shame. I'm just grateful I could find it here on Amazon. So, it doesn't look like the original part as viewed, however, it is the right temp rating for what I needed. Thank God for YouTube which saved me a service call. In case it matters to you, my part was made in Mexico, I'm all good with that, I'm just glad it wasn't made in China. So far so good and no complaints here. I didn't pay for expedited shipping, which I seriously considered since the heat has already set in and they had the part to me within days. 5 stars for shipping time alone! Thank you to all of the trade folks who YouTube the fixes to simple problems homeowners can fix!!

Looks different but works the same for our York Diamond 80

The item that was sent was not the same as in the picture. It was a different brand. It did however work and my gas burner did fire.
