Sony 4K Ultra HD Blu Ray Player with 4K HDR and Dolby Vision + 6FT HDMI Cable - (UBP-X700)

This is the latest model of the Sony X700 UHD Player, namely X700 M. This is a stunningly good 4K UHD bluray player. The Dolby Atmos and DTS X audio output on bitstream is mind-blowingly good. The video quality is jaw-droppingly awesome. The DOLBY VISION HDR output is to be seen to be believed! The image sharpness and color saturation is stunningly awesome! The player supports 110 V to 220 V inputs out of the box and you will not need a step-down 220 v to 110 v converter for this; the supplied US standard power adapter is enough. My only complaint is that the seller is FALSELY ADVERTISING the product as REGION FREE for DVD Playback and ZONE FREE for HD BLURAY Playback!! In reality this player is ZONE LOCKED and REGION LOCKED. IT IS SET TO ZONE A FOR BLURAY PLAYBACK AND REGION 1 FOR DVD PLAYBACK. YOU CAN ONLY PLAY NORTH AMERICAN BLURAY DISKS AND NORTH AMERICAN DVDs on this player!! 4K UHD BLURAY DISKS have always been non-region locked i.e. 4K UHD DISK standards do not have any concept of region locking and zone locking and never were region locked or zone locked. So it is no big deal that this player can play 4K UHD BLURAY DISKS from anywhere in the world!

I started my search for bluray/4k player by checking all offerings from leading brands like sony, lg, panasonic from their official sites and guess what in India we don't get any latest/cheapest offerings from any of the brands. Sony ubp-700 is only 4k player which is listed in official sony website but they also don't sell those now. So I started looking for this player in amazon and guess what there also we have lot of options with same player but different price brackets. The major difference is region free encoding but those players are almost twice of this which to me was not worth as although the current player which I bought is only region A encoded but 70% of blurays sold today supports all region A,B,C and all 4k UHD discs are region free anyway. So yes I am very happy with my investment & if anyone is looking for player that can run bluray/4k titles with great picture quality and awesome sound stage... just go for this. Also please note this player supports dolby vision but we have to manualy switch it on/off before playing any movie (with 3d titles it won't support vision) which is completely fine with me.

Its really nice money worth product slightly costly due to its region free performance played all blue ray either normal or 4k UHD dvd of region:A,B& C after setting region from remote as per instruction paper provided by the seller 👌✌️

The product did not work or get recognised by my brand new Sony OLED TV. It’s of no use without. Remote too not working and cannot activate any commands on Bru ray unit. Very frustrating. Please refund.

I bought this product in Dec 2020 and I recently purchased DVD from USA and it’s not playing in the player. I am getting a message restricted by region. So it’s not region free

4K content play & streaming are Perfect and support all most all formats of videos just Owsome product Netflix, YouTube in 4K, I will give 5star if it support Amazon Prime and other streaming apps

Some Background: A couple years ago, I purchased a brand-new Sony UBP-X1100ES for $500.00 here on Amazon. That same player can still be obtained on Amazon, but for two to three times the price I paid a couple years past. That player stuttered, fractured, and froze often, especially during the 4k playback of the raging river/waterfall scene of "1917", Peter Jackson's "King Kong" between 2:26-2:27 where Kong is rampaging through a shoreline tunnel to "save" Ann Darrow from being taken away on a small boat, and invariably freezing during a climactic scene in "Mortal Engines" where Valentine's warmongering is confronted by his daughter Katherine. And there are other movies which froze also, almost always in specific places. Now, you might think you can see where this is going: "Surely, I must simply not be taking care of my discs. I obviously have scratches and/or poor disc cleaning cloths, cleaner, etc." (For the record, I use Zeiss lens cleaner and cloths.) Well, after a couple years of this, it occurred to me that it could be a problem with the UBP-X1100ES itself. (Big scandalous gasp here!) Providentially, I had a Sony UBP-X700 hooked to a Samsung 4k computer monitor on the wall in front of my treadmill. (Side note: I do my treadmill walking to "Pacific Rim" or "Edge of Tomorrow: Live, Die, Repeat" with Beyerdynamic DT 990 (32 Ohm) headphones... total adrenaline rush, and the Sony UBP-X700 nails it every time!) Anyway, I decided to give the UBP-X700 a go in place of the UBP-X1100ES and see what that might tell me. I made all the connections to my LG 55" OLED TV and fired it up. As soon as I spun up the UBP-X700, the clouds parted, the birds started singing, and peace descended over the land! Well, actually what happened was two-fold technological magic: 1) The UBP-X700 player had no trouble whatsoever with the "1917" raging river/waterfall scene. As well, the player had zero difficulty with the "Mortal Engines" daughter/father confrontation which my UBP-X1100ES flubbed every time. And, last but not least, the "King Kong" Ann Darrow rampage/rescue scene was rendered flawlessly. What a relief to have the freezing disc playback eliminated!!! 2) As a bonus, I immediately noticed the UBP-X700 player had visibly better picture resolution and color on my LG than I had been experiencing with the UBP-X1100ES. This superior rendering was especially true when it came to details such as stitching or abrasions on clothing when watching "Dune, Part 1" and seeing the distinctive markings on the Mirkwood spiders in "The Hobbit, Desolation of Smaug" - which was a bonus, for I cannot recall the spiders' markings catching my attention when using the UBP-X1100ES. Conclusion: After using my previously purchased UBP-X700 to successfully fill the needs of my primary system in the living room, I immediately purchased another UBP-X700 and put it into service in front of my treadmill. All in all, I couldn't be happier!

O bluray é muito bom, com um design contemporâneo, clean e bonito. Quando ligado somente um Led verde indica que está funcionando. A instalação foi bastante simples, assim como a configuração inicial. A imagem gerada é de ótima qualidade. É um dos melhores aparelhos no mercado. Excelente compra.

I did a lot of research and even though Sony had a newer model it seemed like a few things with the newer model were changed that make it less useful than this version. This player is great you will need to get the proper 4k chord for it but it is a very nice out of the box plug it in and play. It has a few apps and the picture quality is absolutely amazing. I have family member with younger kids so it is nice that the front door has a lock on it so children can not play with it. This is a small feature but it is a smart idea. The wireless connection to the Internet in the house is a great feature. Making the connections was so simple it almost felt to easy. If you are looking for a good Blu Ray Player for a great price this is highly recommended.

Es un excelente producto, hasta el momento no se calienta, no hace ningun ruido incomodo, aun no lo he calado con peliculas 4k pero con bluray funciona maravillosamente, igualmente tengo unos DVD viejos y la imagen no la distorciona tanto como cualquier otro blu-ray lo haría, como menciona el comentario de abajo no trae la app de amazon video, y no se pueden añadir mas apps (cosa si tiene una pantalla sin ser smart sería puntos menos). Recomendado al 100 %. Ojo: Si tienes dvds ten en cuenta que este reproductor solo lee Region 1 los region 4 no los leera ya que es un producto de USA.

O cabo de hdmi não veio. O produto. SONY ubp-x700/bm2 Gostaria de saber o que significa BM2 ??? JÁ QUE OUTROS VENDEDORES VENDE O MESMO PRODUTO UBP X700 OU X700M. Alguém sabe informar??? Antes tinha dado 4 estrelas, mas lendo melhor o pacote o cabo HDMI não está incluso como vem em outros pacotes, mas em compensação testando ele já vem com HDR 10 e DOLBY VISIOM e som DOLBY ATMOS E DTS X. Além do idioma em português. Isso no UBP-X700/BM2.
