BioGlo: Bioluminescent Aquarium

I see alot of bad reviews and I'm betting it's because those people aren't doing it correctly. This is the second time I've purchased this item. The first time I wasn't patient and wasn't doing it right. The aquarium also leaked so I sent it back. I Was very disappointed the first time but 6 months later and 6months more experience with the dinos and walla. I purchased a second time but this time I had the knowledge and experience of caring for the dinos. This aquarium is super cool and this time no leaks. The most important thing other than feeding is the light on/off cycle. You mess up their cycle your dinos will not glow and it would be your own fault. It won't be due to a bad product. The secret is to get a round grow light set it for 12 hour cycles and your done. Keeping the dinos out in the open will not work they need to be In a controlled light on/Off environment. I keep mine in the closet closet door is only open when gathering clothes or doing whatever else my closet has to offer. It works well because when my light cycle ends at 7.p.m the dinos are always in the dark and that is very important. When I open my closet the light from the room won't bother the dinos unless I leave it open all the the time which I don't. You can go in and out of your closet as many times as you need to as often as you need to when the light cycle is off it doesn't matter as long as you close the door when you are done. With a grow light you don't have to worry about remembering to put them in light and take them out of light every 12 hours it's just too much work to do that. Do it the right way and your dinos will reward you with their brilliant bioluminescent at night.

This is a very cool idea, the bottle is made out of plastic and seems very cheap, you are basically paying for the bioluminescent plankton. They did glow slightly and only maybe 10-20 little flickers. After a week they stopped completely. I followed all of the directions and kept it in a suitable place that was described to be able to sustain life. I am disappointed with this purchase.

I was always fascinated with all living creatures since I was a kid, and these dinos are not the exception. It's been almost a month since I got them and they are still glowing at night. You have to read the instructions carefully, they are living creatures after all and they need some care, which is easy to do, if you do it they'll be just fine. They come separately and mine arrived with a warm pad to keep them alive. Unfortunately I don't have a good camera to capture the glow at night but they look awesome. I have them on my night stand and I shake them every night before going to bed. I totally recommend it!!!

I bought these as a birthday gift for my husband after I saw how delighted he was with the bioluminescent algae we saw on vacation in the Bahamas. The first batch didn't work but the company quickly shipped replacements without a fuss. The second batch is still kicking months later. We play with our "flashies" every night before bed. They're a great gift for anyone who appreciates the magic of nature!

Super disappointed for the price I paid and how long they lasted. After about 2 weeks they stopped glowing. Put them in more light. Tried less light. Swirled. Left alone. Fed. Super DISAPPOINTED.

So far so good- got my kit and my dinos- I admit the cost is steep for plastic BUT they are made with kids in mind- if you factor in the cost of dinosaur and the express shipment of them it makes sense. Directions could be more clear in terms of how much of the growth medium you put in the first time as I was afraid of killing them. I recieved them quickly and they did glow even if just a little the first day :) Very cool and magical

The directions were difficult to follow, and my daughter's dinos do not glow. Not sure what we did wrong here, but we definitely took the time to get all materials, prep, etc. I wouldn't buy this product again.

My girlfriend loves animals. Like love LOVES them. To the point where she tries to hug all the furry/fuzzy/feathery things. But in a cruel twist of fate she is also highly allergic to all of those same things. So I bought her this instead and she loves it! And as an added bonus they're shiny! She gets to watch them glow and do tricks and I don't have to worry about them pooping in the house. And did I mention they only need to eat every 3 weeks? It's a win-win-win.
