Lee Precision Pacesetter .308 Dies (Red)

I got this die set to replace a single die that I had broken. The Lee set is great quality for the price.

I have wanted to start reloading for a while now, and I finally got around to buying the equipment necessary to reload for my Savage 10FP rifle. Right out of the box, these look clean and the quality looks terrific. Following the included instructions, I set up the resizing and bullet-seating die in their own bushings (I ordered extra bushings, and I now realize I will need more because I have two more die sets on backorder) and I've already resized 20 casings with absolutely no prior reloading experience. All of the casings look to be sized correctly and the case mouths are perfectly round (before, the case mouths were obviously out of round because of the weapon they were fired in, so the casings definitely look right as of now). I'm pretty impressed.To be able to effectively use this set, you will need a bushing for each die you plan on using (for me, I plan on only using the resizing and bullet-seating die; the crimp die will not be used anytime soon, so I will need two bushings per die set). Otherwise, you will be unscrewing each die every time you need to switch to another die and have to 'recalibrate' it each time. The press kit I bought only came with one bushing, and I bought two more (the bushings come two to a pack). I will need four more in order to effectively use all three die sets I plan on using (.223, .308, and .45ACP altogether) without having to recalibrate the dies when I switch calibers. Otherwise, the bushings make quick work of switching from one caliber to another. I'm looking forward to getting alot of use from this die set, and the others to come.UPDATE: 10 years going and I still have the die set. Turns out the expander ball was a tad large and I learned after loading my first rounds that the bullets weren't staying put in the brass; because the expander ball was larger than spec, the case neck wasn't holding the bullet tightly so the bullet was sliding in and out of the case. Using some emery cloth and chucking the pin on a power drill, I was able to shave off some of the ball diameter and get it to spec. I've been using the die set ever since with no other issues. I did however purchase a Lee neck-sizing die to add to this set.

Works as they should!Note: if you are reloading for a .308 (or 7.62x51) semi-auto (or range brass fired from other rifles) consider also buying a small-base sizing die.

Works for me. I like the 3 die sets because I use Dillon and use their powder die. I also keep the re-size/de-cap die in it's own tool head by itself, so I can lube and size in the first step. Then after trimming I can do a quick tumble to clean the brass, install a second tool head with the remaining dies, and finish without cases getting stuck in station 1.

I have alot of lee dies like them all suits my needs and arrived fast
