So far, best sharpener I’ve used.
This is easy to use and works really well. Saw it at sports show and the vendor was offering a free sharpening. I was very impressed but forgot to go back and buy one, plus he was cheaper than here - oh well.I’ve tried several different devices, including a good electric one and noting has worked as well and as easy as this. I haven’t tried serrated knives yet but that feature is a plus.

Never knew how good these were
These get my knives sharper than my chef's choice electric sharpener and can handle a wider variety of blades and sizes. I've used these to sharpen an electric fillet knife, though I'll probably move to using a file for that. Very easy to use and have restored the sharpness to my cooking knives as well. The price, I think around $20 USD for the set at the time, is well worth it. I complemented this set with a knife glove, but it's not really necessary for handling unless you are prone to accidents.

Not sure how much better the edge is with the extra yellow
Bought this to replace the orange only sharpener I've had for years. Not sure how much better the edge is with the extra yellow, but the result is still razor sharp.I've used whetstones (takes forever and is a complete pain in the a), belt grinders (fast but short-lived edge), and bench grinders. When used correctly, this product works the best. And it's usable wherever you need it.Light strokes is the key. Letting the weight of the knife be the pressure is all you need.My only wish is that they would make an sharpener at 18 degrees. I believe they sharpen to 22.5 degrees. Overall, great sharpening system. Will shave hairs.

Angle of rods.
You need to change the angle of the rods back like the ones I bought 20 years ago. the old ones sharper better and faster.

GREAT Sharpeners!
These sharpeners are the best I've ever found. They are super easy to use and put a great edge on any knife. I bought one set several years ago and carried back and forth between my two shops. Got tired of that, so I bought another set for the second shop. Can't say enough good stuff about these sharpeners.

Works better than I expected
Since I retired 4 years ago, I have been on a mission to learn how to sharpen knives to razor sharpness with hand tools only.... no power tools. This set and the Worksharp field sharpener are the two I use most often. Results are very good, but you have to be patient. On a really dull knife, I establish a consistent edge with the worksharp. I then switch to the edge maker. I will do 25 to 50 stokes per stage depending on how dull it was. For touch ups, I use the honing and polishing stages only. The polishing stage really brings out that razor edge.

Fool-Proof Knife Sharpener
I am a real knife snob. I bought a set of these 30 years ago for my new high quality kitchen cutlery and I've never needed anything more. I just wanted a new set. I have a Lansky knife sharpening kit that will put a factory like razor edge on even the most damaged knife, but that can take up to 1/2 hour per knife. If your knife edge is undamaged, but just a little dull, a few passes through the Edgemaker sharpening steels, and then the honing steels, and your knives are ready to go. The Edgemaker is like having a knife sharpened by a top professional chef with a quality butcher's steel, but it's virtually "idiot proof".If your knife's edge is seriously damaged, you may want to consider a Lansky system (or something similar), but for quick everyday sharping that will not damage your quality knives, you can't beat the Edgemaker. I've bought them for both of my adult children and my mom and recommend them to friends.
