They work! Here's How
I wasn't sure how these would work out.. but am delighted now that I've figured it out! The "pod maker" product is no longer available, so the best way to use these is this: Buy a 2 1/4" hole saw and drill a hole or two in a piece of 3/4" or 1" thick scrap board. Set up a clothes iron on medium heat with steam. Set the pod in the hole, carefully full with 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon fine ground coffee. Brush away any grounds at the edges, fold the top over, then apply the iron covering all edges of the pod, for 5 seconds, let it rest, then again for 5 seconds. Pod is now sealed and ready to use in a coffee machine. I bought these to take on a cruise - NCL has this type of pod machines on their ships in balcony cabins.

Pod filters could be easier
Missed the part where it says "works with your own Pod Maker." Since I don't have a pod maker I made my own variation with this. Before I put the empty into the pod holder I wet the top. Put the pod into holder, add coffee, close wet top and brew my coffee. There are no directions inside the box and the writing outside the box is so small one needs a magnifier to read. It shows an iron???? on the box and I have no idea what that is there for!!! Iron your pods shut??? NOT!! My little method seems to work just fine. One could probably do the same thing with 2 pieces of T-paper.

The instructions say to "iron" the pod for a good seal. I just put the coffee in
The instructions say to "iron" the pod for a good seal. I just put the coffee in, close the pod and make coffee. I collect it in a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup and the few grinds that get in stay at the bottom of the Pyrex cup. Then I just make sure I don't pour the very last of the coffee.Works perfectly 99% of the time. 1 or 2 coffee grinds are easy to remove the other 1%. I use Dunkin' Donuts medium blend coffee. I just love it!This takes the edge off the price of the commercially available pods.

Easy to use filters
I bought these to make my own DIY pods for a single serve coffee pot. These work great, and are easy to seal with a small hair straightener, in stead of buying a perfect pod($125+ which is INSANE!). Now I can have the coffee I want and save some money at the same time, what more could you want!

Product has changed and not for the better - never stay sealed.
It has become very hard to find these POD style filters that work anymore. About a year or so ago I bought this brand and a solid 95 out of 100 sealed and stayed sealed. The material was also different in that previously it was more like your traditional cone style coffee filters with a nice solid feel, but these are like paper towels. They rip easily, and just never stay sealed other than for the initial few minutes. If you are like me, you tend to make these in batches. I like to make about 20-30 at a time as some will be different flavors and will usually last a couple weeks or so. I bought these on giving them a second chance and complained previously about them, but they still suck. I've had to move to using "kitchen glue" to make them stay sealed. I mix a little water, corn starch and sugar and use a party brush and go around the edge before sealing. Very time consuming, but it is the only way to get them to stay. I'd look elsewhere but even the other brand isn't much better as they also went to this cheap new style filter.

Great product.
These are great! They save me money, since I don't have to buy the ready-made coffee pods. And I can make my coffee as strong as I want. A little bit of grounds seep out around the edges, but that's no big deal to me.

Pod that save $ and allow you to create your own blends.
Havn’t used any other brand so I guess they are good. I found the highest heat setting on the iron applied for more than 12 seconds seals them with none leaking.

Works + Easy + Versatile
I made a wooden frame to hold the filter and use an iron set to the highest setting for ~10-15 seconds to seal these filters. So far none have failed to seal or malfunctioned in my coffee maker (Bunn My Cafe) and I've used about 25 filters so far. Take that expensive K-Cups!
