Using it in overhead tank, sometimes excess moisture becomes a problem but it's rare, you'll get high readings if water accumulates on it, usually happens when there is sudden weather change

Only for detection and has several issues
The sensor can't be let dipping in water for more than half a day. It will stop working! In case if you want to create a water level controller system go for Waterproof ultrasonic sensor viz the ones used for cars. Pls get the JSN ones of that.
