2 Bar Rack System for The Transit Connect 2014-On Silver

The assembly was easy peasy. I did notice some noise the first time out but I haven’t since. I have a Ford Transit XLT Passenger Connect which doesn’t have threaded holes and you have to remove the headliner to access the holes. That was a pain but that’s a Ford issue. Great value and quality for what you get.

I see a lot of the earlier reviews on this product complaining about the noise, the newer model has a noise reduction feature, and after taking it out for the first time yesterday on a highway going 80MPH, I can tell you that I couldn't hear any noise from it at all. If you have that problem by the way you just coil a rope around the rails and that will do the trick too. I like almost everything about this rack. It's easy to install, it's wide enough to hold plywood or sheet rock, and has end pieces on the ends of the rails that keep the load in place from side to side. The end pieces also have a hole in them for securing rope or bungee cords. The only reason I didn't give the rack 5 stars is because the end pieces cannot be fully secured by the screws included in the package. Once you get them in, they just keep on spinning - so no secure connection, and the end pieces will move easily when you push them side to side. I'm going to see if I can find another way to anchor them better with another - maybe wider screw or bolt.

This roof rack system is very sturdy for how light it is. I mounted a overland 270LT awning on it and it feels rock solid! The T slot is also compatible with Yakima style mounts as well!

The hardware is very cheap I had to go to homedepot and buy new nuts and bolts because the ones they provided stripped easily and they could break when tightening I literally broke 3 screws and stripped half the nuts. What's the deal ? Also it does not come with directions.

Installed it. It made such wind noise I could not stand it. Went to remove it....big problem. the bars are grooved aluminum and the carriage bolts are hard steel. They turned and there was no way to hold them.I called the manufacturer and told him I had purchased them through Amazon and told him the problem. He said "oh, you bought them through a third party...can't help you". He would not address the task of removing the bolts when the tracks stripped out.I had to cut the bars off of the vehicle.So for Vantech.....never again, no support, no concern...never again.For Amazon.....It is a computer not a person....do not buy anything from them that you cannot box back up and send back.
