Just like Grandma used to make
Love this oatmeal. I was just told to go Gluten free so when I seen I can still enjoy oatmeal, I was thrilled. Very Delicious.

Gluten Free For ME
I was unable to find Gluten Free Oatmeal in my local stores that was plain. Most stores carried flavored Gluten Free Oatmeal. This is an excellent Oatmeal! Here is my helpful hints: I use one measure cup of oats -to- two measure cups of water. I cook two servings at a time. (2-to-4) For my usual two servings of old fashioned style oatmeal, I use 2 measure cups (1/3 C) oats and add only 3 measure cups of water during the actual cooking process. I cook it in the microwave for one minute. Stop. I cook it for another minute. Stop. I cook it for the last of the 3 minutes. I take it out and add the last 1 measure cup of water. I stir the last cup of water into the very flat oatmeal, it will be sorta chunky. I add cinnamon and brown sugar. I Love it! I cook it one minute at a time because other wise it boils over and makes a big mess of my microwave. My son suggested I set the microwave settings to do the starts and stops for me. I have yet to do that! I use a regular soup size bowl. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Gluten free oatmeal is better for my celiac disease than regular oatmeal. Thank you Quaker Oats!

Little bit chewier than I like
I bought this to try out because I was able to get some in a slightly bulk quantity on Amazon instead of going to the grocery. As far as oatmeal goes it is definitely edible but it is not my favorite. I prefer one of the ones that I buy from my local grocery more, which is probably available in most groceries in America. I think it is technically also an old-fashioned rolled oats, but for some reason the one that I prefer seems to have slightly thinner oats than this one as it takes longer to cook this one than the one that I prefer. I do not prefer the quick oats. I like the oats to have a little bit of a texture to them. A little bit of chew is nice. However, for some reason I found that these Quaker oats were so thick that in order to cook them for my breakfast in a short period of time, meaning less than 10 minutes and have them be enjoyable for me. I ended up soaking them the entire day before and then cooking them in the morning. I ended up deciding that this was both ridiculous and not as enjoyable and just wasn't worth it for me. I decided to go back to purchasing the one from my local grocery which I enjoy more and it's just as easy to access. I think if you enjoy oatmeal and you don't mind it being chewy or perhaps cooking it for a longer period of time that this would be just fine. However, if you do not have very much time to cook your oatmeal and/or you do not like very chewy oatmeal, then you may want to try a different one. On a slightly different note, one of my bags had a hole in it and I had to toss it out later on. It was a small one down where the bottom is sealed where it was apparently not sealed and I didn't realize until later on. I didn't eat out of this bag and didn't notice the same problem with the others. The picture shows the ingredients are just whole grain oats. And ironically also the cook time says that you can make great oatmeal in 5 minutes. This was not my experience. I really love oatmeal. It's something that I have everyday for breakfast and this is one that I most likely will not purchase again

Great oatmeal for gluten free diet!!
I suffer from a variety of diseases unfortunately. It seems that I have a problem with gluten-it turns my skin red and really stuffs me up. I always thought I had rosacea and so did my doctors. Apparently nope it's gluten. This oatmeal tastes just like regular oatmeal. It's more expensive than regular oatmeal but unfortunately that seems to be how it is for specialty food items. I highly recommend it!
