Great helmet!
Used this model at caterpillar for 14 years that the compamy provided helmets for there employees. I decided to buy my own amd this looks like there were some minor updates for the headgear which was a good thing. Im so happy to have one of my own now. Sure its expensive but its well worth it if your passionate for welding. I waited till it was on sale amd snatched it up. Well recommended

Great product for hobbyists or professional welders.
Very fast shipping. Thanks. I've been welding for years using a Speedglass helmet but it finally expired after all kinds of rough welding conditions. For a change I switched to a different brand, that was supposed to be better, but it didn't last more than 6 months. Now I feel like I'm back in the game. This new Speedglass helmet is great, lightweight and as described. The shade is adjustable, the arc delay is perfect for the eyes. Also I get an ample view of the workpiece and a clear view of the weld puddle. The ratchet is kinda new to me but it feels good. No pressure on my forehead. Worth the money.

You can't go wrong
I purchased this after my old 9000 series finally gave up on me after 19 years. I've owned and used several welding hoods in my 2 decade run in the industry. I always loved my speedglas because of its size, weight, and reliability. This may not be the newest, but it performs just as well as my old one. Only time will tell for the reliability.

YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING
I was hesitant to spend twice what I've spent in the past on previous welding helmets, but this one blew me away. I was looking for something low profile to fit into tight spaces while still being able to clearly see the area I was working on and this helmet was one of very few that ticked all of the boxes. Visibility on shade 3 is amazing, and the visibility on shade 10 was unbelievable. This is the only welding helmet I've ever used where you can see nearly everything in all directions on shade 10 instead of just a little ball of light and a small section of your puddle in a massive dark void. You're never gonna have a Hellen Keller moment with this thing. All of the adjustments for shade, delay, and sensitivity are push button with LED indicators conveniently located at the bottom of the helmet so making quick adjustments without flipping it up or taking it off are a breeze. The only downside which I probably should have read the manual first to avoid is that you gotta make sure you turn the shade on BEFORE you strike an arc because this helmet doesn't automatically turn on. You won't have a Hellen Keller moment, but you might get a taste of Stevie Wonder if you don't press that big button on the left first.100% worth the money. You'll never want to buy anything else after buying one of these.

Best lens all around!!
Hood is great! Works like a charm true color is unmatched. The quality of the hood materials other than the lens seems kinda cheap but it is very lightweight. Overall great hood for $250 3m doesn’t disappoint!

Best helmet ever
I've been using speedglas lids for over 25 years. It's the only brand I'll put on my head. They've been great over the years but this one is a game changer. The first thing you'll notice is the comfort of the headgear. Then the magic happens. The natural color lens is amazing. Takes a little getting used to but once you do, you'll never go back.

Good lightweight hood. Don't get it wet
I'm an ironworker in Seattle where it rains 350 days/year. When I first started, almost EVERY other welder used a Speedglas hood, so I figured it was an industry standard and I followed suit. You can understand my Suprise when I called the Speedglas technicians to ask why my hood kept dying in the rain and they informed me that their hoods were not designed to get wet. That was my response from Speedglas. That being said, this item did survive almost 2 years of welding in the rain, but it was rain that ultimately killed it. It IS indeed lightweight compared to most welding helmets and the color is vastly superior (more of a blue hue vs red or green). I wish it had an on/off button that actually turned the ADF off though.
