This book is a must read for anyone in management. Also, it applies to anyone who works in healthcare, administration, or academics.

This book covers the different aspects of science management and working with people: from becoming more aware about people's feelings to hiring decisions and giving feedback. I found the material very useful and very accessible. This book can also be used as a quick reference, e.g. for hiring questionnaires.In science people are rarely coached about the management aspects, and also the coaching often comes too late (at many universities and labs PhD candidates and postdocs start managing students, but management workshops are given to professors/permanent staff only). So if you are a scientist looking to learn how to be a better manager, even if for your single bachelor thesis student, this is the right book.
