Did no harm
Having had a very bad autumn last year, with an extended period of low emotional energy and a severe bout of flu, my test subject started taking these tablets in the New Year. She wasn't able to report any obvious or immediate effects, but over the three months that she took them, gradually found that she had renewed energy and zest for life and has suffered no illnesses this year. Maybe it was just the lengthening days, the sunlight and the spring that made her feel better. But it could have been the Ginseng. At least they didn't make her feel worse - which is more than can be said for some other supposed wonder cures!

Had literally no effect, on anything
First off, it is worth noting that Koregin's target market is elderly men and, as a 22-year-old woman, I'm perhaps not the best person to assess Koregin's many alleged benefits. For example, I am unable to comment on its effectiveness as a remedy for erectile dysfunction. However, ginseng also purportedly increases energy levels, lowers blood pressure and improves concentration and I should have thought that these such benefits would manifest themselves not only in elderly men but in anyone who cared to take the supplement.Well, I've taken the entire 30 day course and I can safely say that Koregin has not fulfilled a single one of its claims. In fact, it's had no observable effect on me in any way at all. 600mg of pure extract is a high dosage, so it can't be that I simply didn't take enough of the herb to feel its effects. There are no reliable studies that I know of into the true benefits of ginseng and very little scientific evidence to suggest that ginseng can improve your health or wellbeing to a noticeable degree. Certainly this rings true in my case. However, some people are indeed claiming that Koregin seems to have improved their vitality. Assuming this improvement isn't down to the placebo effect, maybe it's possible that the effects of ginseng are only noticeable on older people or people who are a little run down in the first place. Thankfully I have no health complains as yet, so perhaps Koregin can do nothing for me at the moment. Maybe in my twilight years I'll return to it and find myself suddenly renewed and revitalised... for now, however, this is not a supplement I will be investing in.If you're feeling a bit low on energy, there's no harm in giving Koregin a go to see if it works for you. It certainly doesn't seem to work any ill. If you're fit and healthy, on the other hand, I wouldn't recommend Koregin as it hasn't given me the extra boost I was hoping for.

Nada, nowt, zip, zero, zilch
I am aware of the many fantastical claims that proponents of Korean ginseng make, but unfortunately I did not experience anything during, or after, taking the one month supplied course. Despite working in orthodox medicine I really wanted to believe that at least some of the claimed benefits would be bestowed upon me, not least the extra vim and vigour where it matters, but alas it was not to be. There wasn't even a whiff of the infamous 'placebo effect' but at least I didn't experience any adverse side effects like hairy palms or baying at the moon. The capsules themselves are absolutely huge and would not look out of place in an equine vet's toolkit so beware if you struggle swallowing any pills. The gelatine capsule aids it's passage down the old gullet with plenty of fluids, even so, the very sight of such a behemoth capsule may put a lot of people off and the gelatine will not be acceptable to the vegetarians/vegans out there. The packet claims the capsules are free from GMO, yeast, gluten, wheat & dairy, and artificial colours, preservatives and flavourings.I'm sure the serial dilutionists of this world will condemn me to a lifetime of Vanessa Feltz reruns for my heresy, but I can only report on my own subjective experience. However, if it works for you, then fill your boots.

As Ginseng goes....reasonably good for a pep up
Well- I've taken Ginseng before. As before, it's inducing a slightly peppy feeling after you've dosed up your system for over a week on a one tablet a day, 20 minutes before breakfast regime, but nothing brash. (I'm 11 days in). I never had any particular positive reaction to the other bouncy herb, St John's Wort, so I can tell that there is a very slight improvement in general wellbeing (it's doing nothing to get rid of a lousy cold and a big red spot on my nose, though). I've had a much better zap me up reaction to japanese umeboshi "pickled plums", personally.Ginseng is not something that you take until the end of time, as far as I recall- you do your 30 day dose and then go cold nutloaf.Irritatingly the capsules are gelatin based and there is some mineral colouring to make the contents look dark brown- there's also a bit of an odd semi-cocoa taste to the outer capsule. It's ok, but a course of meditation or yoga would have a similar effect on zapping you awake. I think it has to be a personal thing that you try once, and that lukewarm statement is as far as I will go.
