Buyer beware! Make an informed decision.
This ruler was a disappointment. If you are buying it to square up large blocks, be aware that the inch grids are frosted and it is very hard to see where the edge of your fabric is. I even tried blue tape, but you just can't see.I have Omnigrid rulers that I use all the time with no problem. Their grid marks are neon, but not frosted. This one is different. As for value for your money, it's a good price, but it doesn't work.

NOT NON-SLIP !
Definitely is NOT Non-Slip. This is a good quilting ruler, but is not slip resistant. I would not have purchased it if I had known it was like the rulers I already own. Wasted my money.

Best in the market!!! Highly recommends it.
This is one of the best product in the market. I bought it for my wife’s sewing classes and all the students loved it, they said it made their work so much more easier. The only downside was the poor packaging for delivery, the omnigrip quilters rule is a fragile item and should have been bubble wrapped at least. I ordered 4 and 1 was broken, because they were loosely packed in a spacious box with nothing to buffer any impact on it. However Amazon responded quickly to my complaint and immediately sent a replacement. Omnigrip ruler is the best and I will always recommend it, my wife have been using her first one for over 7 years and it’s still in extremely good condition, that’s why she recommends it for her students.

Be sure to get the one that says OmniGRIP
Love these! The gripping power and accuracy is superior. If you are considering new rulers, be sure to get the Omni GRIP ones as I feel they work better for cutting fabric as they have a product on the back to make them grip the fabric for a clean cut with your rotary cutter. Just my thoughts...they work for me. Also, look for a Fiskars pink cutting mat...these work well together.

Great for fussy-cutting large blocks
A lady asked me to finish a quilt she had started 12 yrs ago. It had 15-3/4" fussy cut blocks. This ruler made it SO much easier. I first found the center point and marked, then took the halfway measurement to line up a ruler and cut each side from the center point. The ruler has directions for other uses too. It was just what I needed to finish this quilt with it's odd-sized fussy cut blocks. Most square rulers are not this big, so anything between 12" and 20.5" will not be a problem for me anymore. Oh, and you can put Omnigrid Glow Line tape on the ruler for a specific size too. What I love most about it is the center hole for marking your fabric, and it's size. Very Happy with my purchase

Great little tool!
I've never made a quilt but I thought I'd try the Omnigrip 6X9 for drawing quick, engineering sketches to scale. It works great for that but, this is much more than just a "ruler", it's a great little TOOL. I've found it useful for accurately laying out and cutting patterns for prototype work (parallax error is eliminated). The fact that it is clear with a contrasting black and yellow grid makes it easy to throw down on any pattern or drawing and check for errors regardless of the surface color (the neon yellow is very visible against black line drawings). The photograph of this item does not do it justice. There is a lot going on in the detail of the grid. If anything on a complicated layout is not exactly square or parallel, it becomes immediately evident against the Omnigrip grid. The relative position and spacing of multiple objects can be assessed at a glance. Great for print layout, logo work, etc. If you are a creative person, you will find lots of uses for this "Quilters Ruler".

Great size, stays in place
Besides the wonderfully large size of this ruler, 24 x 9 1/2, it stays firmly in place when cutting fabric. Used it for trimming large quilt blocks. It didn't slip once while cutting. So easy to read too. There is a green translucent stripe over the 1/2 inch area at the end of the ruler. I often mistake the 1/2 addition on other rulers, this makes it clear which end is measuring a full inch vs. the extra half inch. Far less likely to make a cutting error. Omnigrid is an excellent brand. Highly recommend.

Not really non-slip but I don't want that usually. I want it to slide along as I move along fabric.
If I want it to be non slipping I would apply some of the thinnest type of non-adhesive rubber like shelf liner sold for that purpose in the mesh. Sometimes the solid is just too thick and some mesh can be too. Check out what is in hardware stores to dollar stores for the very thinnest versions. Then apply by double sided thin tape in small strips or some flexible glues like e-glue on just a few spots on the mesh let dry over night or at least 12 hours. That will prevent slipping believe me. However I for one need my rulers and expect them to slide along not drag or stick. So think about your need before making a change to the ruler. Otherwise this ruler along with same brand in smaller size is just what I wanted and looking for. Easy enough to read through the plastic too and line up.

very handy
Dritz rulers are well built rulers with markings and durability, and this size is handy to keep beside the sewing machine with a smaller cutting mat.
