Great for storage, a lot of work to put together but worth it in my opinion.
Had this almost a year now, it’s working great, very stable and survived a move with no issues. Worked great for my tiny apartment with no cabinet space, and fits well in my new house also. However, it is a PROJECT to put together. Had to spend a few days on it, working on it bit by bit after work. To put it into perspective, you have to fully put the drawers together, down to screwing on the drawer mechanism and hinges on the cabinet doors. The instructions are easy to follow, so it’s definitely do-able. And i enjoy that sort of thing so I didn’t mind. Was just surprised by how much work it was. The wheels were particularly impressive to me, very heavy duty which is good because the unit itself is heavy and we use it for storage for our pots and pans. Wheels lock just like they should. Overall I definitely recommend this for people who enjoy “adult legos”.

Worth the price and effort
The Gitua Rolling Kitchen Island With Drop Leaf is both functional and a nice looking piece of furniture. There are a LOT of pieces so having some space to spread out is useful. The instructions are typical of DIY furniture with a MAJOR exception, the images and what text there is are relatively large and fairly easy to understand (you probably won't need the bifocals.) Note that items 17 and 30 on page 3 of the instructions will be found in the equipment box; and item P on page 4 is a bit unclear (I found it the only truly unclear item) because the 'P' package only had screws but the image shows there is another part...and that other part is the power outlet which is found in the main box, not the equipment box. I found assembly fairly easy, but time-consuming. It took me about 4 hours for assembly + an hour unpacking and checking all the parts and pieces. The cart can be assembeled by one person, but the assemply of the doors, spice, and towel racks are akward and a second set of hands will help. I particularly appreciated the threaded inserts for some of the screws, and that ALL THE HOLES ALIGNED; however, many of the pilot-holes for screws without threaded inserts benefited from some additional drilling to avoid stripping the heads (they strip VERY EASILY,) especially if you use a powered driver. Also, pay close attention to item "O" when securing it to the inside of the side panels (#'s 2&3, step 17, pg 3,) if you don't get them placed right (and it is a bit tricky,) then the drawers may not operate properly (the one thing I had to do twice to get right.) All-in-all I'm happy with this purchase. It meets a need, looks nice, and moves smootly It's ceretainly worth the $99 (+free shipping) I paid, but I think I'd still have been happy at it's current $179.

Plywood and hardware are terrible - updated
So I’m updating this. Unable to find anything else for a decent price, desperate for the storage and this one just checking all of the boxes, we’ve kept it and put it together. Everyone likes the looks of it. Since this will be getting a lot of use rather than sitting in corner for occasional storage, it’s needed significant reinforcement. I added glue wherever I could during assembly and this helped with the wood pulping when turning screws. The bolts are still giving me headaches especially since one of the drawer fronts won’t stay on at all they’re just not as solid as ones I’ve used before. I’ll be adding reinforcing brackets this weekend because I don’t have confidence this will last long otherwise with heavy use (baking). I’ll also reinforce the bottom of the drawers because someone will inevitably put something heavy into them and I don’t think they can hold that much weight. I’ll have to add more holes for the shelves because they’re all too low for a Kitchenaid mixer. Getting the doors on even was a trick. I measured and all of the holes were even so I found out that there’s some leeway with where the hinges are when the screws are tightened. I had to tighten the screws with the door lined up in the right place. I didn’t have many chances to try to align them because the wood would be too compromised to hold a screw, glue or not, with too many tries. I’m not inclined to change my rating at this point because this has just been a huge pain and will continue to be until I shore it up. We’ll see how long it holds. —————————————————————— I had the same experience as the other negative reviews and am returning this. When screwing in hardware, the plywood mostly just shredded and had little grip. Despite being careful to not over tighten, the plywood twisted up and the black cover cracked. I tried gorilla glue to keep the integrity of the plywood, but I think it just absorbed it because when I unscrewed it to send it back, it was like there was no glue at all. When trying to use the round screw thing (pictured), none tightened properly no matter what I did. I just used this type of hardware on another item, and there’s a huge difference in hardware quality. It was still wobbly no matter what I did. I can’t imagine this holding up to the wear kitchen furniture can sustain. I’m really sour. I spent a lot of time unboxing this, trying to get it together, take it apart and now I need to figure out how to rebox it. No more non-name brand stuff. I really need the extra storage in the kitchen but no way am I doing this again. I’ll have to figure something else out. We’ll see how the return goes.

Flimsy, top slab is warped.
Not a very sturdy piece of kitchen "furniture". No written instructions, only diagrams, so be ready with a magnifying glass and lots of time. A drunk 5th grader (in China-origin of product) might be of some help. Top slab is warped a bit, clearly visible when extending the side flap. The press board pieces make for some stress, as the screws don't always line up and if you try to adjust them, the holes break open and you need wood glue to repair the area. Looks nice once assembled, but don't count on durability of this item. High price, plus extra for shipping might be a turn off, so choose wisely.

Worth It!
Great Island! I was nervous about buying this, but very glad I did. Overall it's a great addition to our kitchen. It stores the extra kitchen appliances we do not use on a daily basis and my cake decorating tools, with some room to spare. It's sturdy once you have all the parts together and secured. It comes in a lot of pieces, but very well labeled. Ours personally had no damage on any corners, it was well packed with styrofoam all around the box. I started building it after work one night and my 10 year old was able to finish it for me while I was at work the next day. Instructions are very easy to follow. This is obviously not solid wood, nothing really is anymore. The backing is the thinnest point, but has good security once completely built. I did however show my kids that it is thinner and they know not to put their feet on it (where they sit with the barstools). I also waited until they were older before purchasing something like this, especially new. I do actually like this one so much, I'm planning to purchase another to make a drink station in a different part of the kitchen. And plan to push both of them together during bigger family gatherings for extra table space!

Five stars -- BUT
They look amazing. Work well. Seems sturdy. Plenty of storage space & nice spot to hold your paper towels or washclothes on the side. All good things.... BUT the trouble is, they are insanely complicated to build. I had to pay a contractor $300 to assemble this because it was beyond me. That said, even with the $300 assembly cost, much cheaper than a prebuilt unit you might get from home depot or Lowes and again they look absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend, if you don't mind the assembly.
