Can I connect these to an arduino, which when walked upon triggers the arduino to subsequently open & close a sliding door?

They’re ideal to connect to an Arduino and you can then connect the board to motor drivers or a relay to drive your motors. However, these are quite thick, so they’d have to be within a step or over a void in the floor. They’re not thin enough to just tuck under a floor covering.
