This is the legendary J140 Active Jacket, made in the US from imported parts. It's a superb jacket, very well made and warm. A couple of points to note - this is not the same as the Active Jacket sold from the official Carhartt store here in the UK. That version is slightly different to this J140 - compared to the UK store version, this does not have - 3M Thinsulate lining, so less bulky than the J140 Hidden rib knit cuffs with cordura reinforced sleeve The hand pockets are not lined The hood drawstrings are external instead of internal Washed duck instead of firm duck which is unwashed so is more stiff when new. If you like what Carhartt have done with the update,then buy the newer version, if you prefer the OG, then this is for you. I wanted the OG so purchased this over the newer version.

I bought the same jacket in black 5 years ago and it’s hands down the most warm and durable coat I’ve ever owned. I also get compliments on it still to this day even though it’s visibly frayed and faded from the elements. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my old black jacket and still my go to jacket when it’s cold outside because it’s so warm and comfortable. I just like it so much I wanted another one in a different color so I got the brown one this time. These run big, designed for layering underneath comfortably. Such a stiff fabric but it softens as you wear it and wash it. Thick cotton shell that won’t tear when hopping barbed wire fence or rubbing against sharp rebar. Doesn’t matter if you’re doing construction work, camping, or a professional burglar, this jacket will serve and protect you. It’s like walking around in a sleeping bag with sleeves. I did not need another Carhartt jacket but just in case I lose my old one I have a back up jacket ready for action. Buy it now and you will not be disappointed in this investment. It may be the perfect jacket, especially for the winter months.

I will start by saying carhartt products generally fit one size larger. I normally wear a medium jacket, i ordered a size small and it fits perfectly. The jacket looks great, its durable, and warm. Because its such a thick material its definitely stiff when its new, this changes over time as you work it in. Same goes with the zipper, its heavy duty so it requires some elbow grease to zip up when its new. Tip, pull the bottom of the jacket down when you zip up, it just works. Dont base your opinion on the jacket in the first week or two of wearing it, wear it and let the materials soften etc. this type of jacket will last you many years. 5/5 product, i would recommend it to anyone considering. Worth the money 100%

Bought for my 15yr old son. He wears a men's Med and athletic build. This coat was ordered in a med tall. Hits perfectly where I wanted it to be. Right under the hip area. This is a little baggy but what I expected. I wanted something he could grown into. He is growing fast. His dad is over 6' so I'm sure he will be tall as well. The quality is what's expected canvas work coat. Has enough room to wear a hoodie under. Solid construction, the tall in Med was definitely a good choice based on reviews. Nothing hangs out. Stiff but after it's broken in I'm sure it will be all good. Love that they have a tall option so nothing hangs out

I have bought Carhart for years now. Love their products. As an OTR truck driver they work well for the brutal winters wherever I travel. Perfect for throwing chains, or walking into a truck stop, and nice enough to wear at home taking my wife to dinner.
