Stop waiting to replace your old, broken, worn-out window lift struts!!!!
Sad pathetic confession to make. I have owned my vehicle for over 8 years. In that time frame, the window has never stayed open with the window struts. Up to this point.... meh....not a big deal. I used the tailgate, and the tailgate struts worked just fine. Recently however, one of the tailgate struts stopped working. So, I decided to replace both the tailgate and the window struts. The window struts arrived first. Here's the skinny:It took me longer to uninstall the old struts than it did to install the new struts. Put simply, pulling the old clamps/clips off the old struts was a little tricky*. Mostly this was because of at least 8 years of dirt and oil build up. (Stop judging me! Car washes never reach the struts, duh. And who wants to clean something that they never see any way. Seriously stop judging!)*tricky [ trik-ee ]adjective,1. Taking 5 mins when expected time is less than thatAnything bad?Well not really. Removing the struts from the packaging straps was a little difficult. But that is to be expected so they don't extend during shipping. The replacement struts were slightly longer when extended than the broken struts. However, that may have been because the broken struts were not OEM. To be fair, I don't know which is the correct length of struts either. However, I can say that they work, and they don't overextend the hinges. That is pretty much the bottom line.Would I recommend them, YES!!Also, if I could give them 10 stars on, Easy to install, I would. Seriously a small child could have installed them.
