Amazing
This is an absolute amazing deal! If you go to any of the big hardware stores they're going to want twice this and most residential houses only have the smaller horsepower! You do not have to hardwire this one it does come with a plug which is amazing just make sure that it is the only plug on a switch or the only one you use! It is so quiet and so powerful! Had it installed in about 5 minutes and it is probably one of my favorite purchases of 2025 so far!!

Great replacement for Insinkerator Badger 5
Bought the 3/4 hp slimline to replace an Insinkerator Badger 5; it is compatible so everything lined up for an easy installation. The unit feels solid, it fits nicely under the sink and it is surprisingly quiet. We love that it comes with a stainless steel stopper for the sink and a removable rubber splash guard for easy cleaning as well as a magnetic ring to help stop utensils from falling in and causing damage. It comes with a 10 year warranty. Hopefully we won't need to use the warranty but if we do, fingers crossed on having a good customer experience. Overall, great value for the price.

Dependable Replacement for Everyday Kitchen Use
I got the Waste Maid 1/2 HP Garbage Disposal to replace my old broken unit, and it’s been a reliable upgrade so far. The stainless steel grinding components handle everyday food scraps well, and the anti-jam feature has been helpful for tougher bits. Installation was mostly smooth, though I had to fiddle with the alignment a bit to get it secured. Once it was up and running, I noticed it's quieter than my previous disposal, though it still makes some noise when grinding tougher waste. It’s great for light to moderate use, which covers most of my kitchen needs. Heavy loads might push its limits, but for everyday waste, it works efficiently and without fuss.

This is a nice in-sink disposal
This disposal actually operates quietly. The motor is strong and doesn't seem to get jammed easily. All of the pipes lined up with my original unit, only hiccup was this unit is wider than my original so had to get a different tail pipe. I also hard-wired it because the original unit was installed that way and there was no outlet under my sink. Otherwise straight forward installation and nice operation. Now to see how long it lasts.

Small, Energy Efficient, Quiet, Powerful and at a Great Price...What more could you want?
Installed this on a cast iron sink, which is thicker than most, so this should install on any sink. I would suggest using plumbers putty instead of the rubber gasket supplied for the drain flange. This will eliminate any possibility of leaking.Took me about an hour to install because the connection of the disposal to the flange is slightly different than I have seen before. Directions were OK, but took a little studying to be sure I was doing it correctly. Would probably take me about 20 minutes to install if I had to do another one. It is really that easy. All of my former units were hard wired. This has a plug, so I just added a female socket to my Romex. In about 5 minutes, it was plugged in. You can get one of these from any hardware store or big box. With respect to the few people that said their plumber had trouble or could not install this unit...I would call the Mario Brothers, as they probably have better training and could install this while they were jumping over turtles and grabing coins. One other observation that some people may care about that is not clear from the picture above: the sink flange is bright, shiny metal, not the brushed, dull metal look I have found on most disposals. If this does not meet your decor, I believe you can buy a brushed metal flange, but check that out before you buy this model. What I like about this unit:1) Small. Takes up about one half of the space of my former unit. Largely because of the permanent magnet.2) Uses very little electricity. Hooked it up to a Kill-A-Watt meter, and it read 70 watts while running.3) Quiet. I asked my wife to listen to how quiet this is. She said turn it on. I said it IS on! Seriously, it is that quiet while running. I tested it with a decibel meter at a distance from the sink to my ears, and it registered 60-65 decibels! For those of you who are not familiar with the scale, this is about the loudness of a normal conversation. From 10 feet away the decibel reading dropped to about 40 Dbs. You would have a hard time telling it was running with normal background noise. It sometimes does make a louder clicking sound when turned on, but only for a fraction of a second. Now, that decibel level is without any food being ground. It is about 5 Dbs higher while grinding depending what you put into it.4) As far as grinding power, it appears as good or better than the 3/4 HP I replaced. We compost, so we put very little food waste down a disposal, largely out of concern for the environment and our sewer lines. But I tested it with a chicken leg bone, and it was gone in about 10 seconds.5) Stainless steel interior components should help it to last a long time.So unless you grind a lot food waste, this unit should be more than you would need at a very reasonable price.

Quiet!
This disposal is cheaper, stronger, and quieter than my old one. What really impressed me was how quiet it is. When I first turned it on I thought it wasn't working right because of how much quieter it was, but everything is working great.
