Werner AC96 Aluminum Standoff Stabilizer

This stabilizer works well as stated. However, I do recommend more sturdy/robust endcaps than the ones provided. (I bought the NO BULL Bullhorn Ladder Stabilizer bumpers and they work well.)I did have one issue, though. The parts bag was missing a critical piece to secure the stabilizer to the ladder. I contact Werner but they said to contact the seller on Amazon. So, I reached out to them about the missing part. They not only responded within 1 business day, they also sent out a replacement with no additional questions asked within a couple of days later. When possible, I will buy from this seller again - highly recommended!

In case wondering, this will fit most basic ladders. I have one that you do the clicking release on the hinges, and it will go in different directions. Kind of a clone of one of the name brands, I suppose. Works great on it. I was a bone-head and didn't have it centered quit even and didn't realize that until I had already tightened everything. But that had no affect while using it to put up decorations. I have since straightened that out. lol Do be careful, as I often have my ladder out and easily accessible this time of year, and until I developed some muscle memory, I would keep running the extensions, as they stick out quit a ways, and isn't always in your line of sight. Which makes it easy to knock down if you have your ladder standing upright on it's own. Anyway, those have nothing to do with it's performance, just me getting used to it and receiving a few bruises. :o)

The bar was easy to install. Performed exactly as expected. The hook is handy to hold tools as well as paint cans.

The Werner Stabilizer arrived on time and we took it out of the box immediately and put it to use. It was great for painting around windows and to give me a better sense of security. I was suprised how easy my friend set it up on his ladder. I read the instructions and was ready to give him help but he attached it with no problem. We were both greatful that it arrived when it did. Nice product at a good price.

Excellent safety item. This fits both my "Little Giant" ladder which has fairly large side rails, but also my standard extension ladder. The width allows it to span many windows, and set below the window gives extra reach because of the stand-off. You don't feel like you are falling backwards. DO USE THE PROVIDED CURVED ALUMINUM SQUARES UNDER THE RUBBER FEET, AND PLACE THEM AND THE RUBBER FEET WITH THE CURVE UP-AND-DOWN. This prevents the sharp ends of the bar from cutting through the rubber feet very quickly.

Allows me to safely climb onto my roof and dismount without falling. If you are using an extension ladder I would strongly recommend that you get one of these for your safety and comfort. A well made product that is very simple to install on your ladder. Well worth the money.

This standoff works fine. It's a nice light weight aluminum - the clamps seem well designed and sturdy. I've had it mounted to my 24' homeowner special as well as my more serious 36' type-1A and it's fit both as expected - so no surprises from this quarter. One nice thing I figure worth mentioning is that the aluminum has a little bit of spring to it. This seems just enough to help actually dampen the flex in the 36' a bit - which nicely improves the experience of traversing up and down. All in all - I'm quite pleased.

Took delivery of this item yesterday. Tried to assemble it today. Hardware kit contained 2 L-bracket/angle clips. One clip had a pre-drilled hole (as it should), the other did not have the hole. No way to attach the latter clip to U-bolts as required.Called Werner. They promised to overnight a new hardware package. That's great, but I still lost a work day.Update #1: 9/26, 3PM and no package from Werner. Amazon did their part and there's no complaint about them. However, next time I need something fast, I'll go to Home Depot. That way, any problems can be resolved with a return trip. 5 Stars for Amazon, 4 Stars for the gizmo, 0 Stars for Werner Customer Service.Update #2: 9/30, contacted Amazon this morning. They offered to send a new unit free of charge. This afternoon, an e-mail informed me they were out-of-stock and could only process a refund. I give high marks to Amazon, but I'm still shy a functioning stabilizer.Update #3: Called Werner. The replacement order never left their warehouse. Waiting for a call back from their CSR regarding why.I started out writing a product review. Somehow, it's morphed in to a comedy skit.
