Tricky installation; first unit went bad but customer service replaced it and second unit works great.
Works great. The hardest part was finding the right spot in the fuse box to connect the three leads. You need a ground lead (easy) an always on power lead, and a lead that comes on only when the engine is running. Also, you need a hidden location in the car that's not blocked by metal, and that you can run the three leads to. It took me about 90 min to get it hooked up. Then, I had to activate it, and that required a call to customer support. To their credit, I got a human on the line pretty quickly, and he was able to activate my trackmate. The actual operation of the device is excellent, and you can see the location of the vehicle in real time on a Google map provided in the Trackmate website. In hindsight, I should have tested the device outside the car, and gotten it activated, then installed it in the car.Edit: it worked great for about two weeks. Then it started having trouble with lost connections and lost GPS signal. I tried re-positioning it, and that seemed to help, then it went bad again. I tried removing the internal battery to do a manual reset. The internal battery is similar to a cellphone battery. When I jiggled the tiny power plug to loosen it, the plug separated from the motherboard. Getting it re-soldered onto the motherboard would cost more than getting a new unit. Also, I tried calling Customer Support, and no answer. I got a recording that the number was not in service. I also emailed Customer Support, and they replied the next business day to say that they were sending me a replacement Mini, which they did, and I received it a few days later. Meanwhile, I decided to order a Hydro GPS, which is designed to be waterproof. I did this because the first Mini went bad when there was some rain in the area, and I suspect the rain may have worked its way into the compartment where I had the Mini. It was just behind the plastic bumper, and seemed to be dry, but just to be on the safe side, I replaced it with the Hydro. The Hydro works fine so far, and I would recommend getting it instead of the Mini, if you are putting the unit anywhere that could conceivably get wet. I am giving this four stars because it's a great system for tracking vehicles despite my difficulties with the first unit. Customer support has been very good, after my initial difficulty getting hold of them, which was over a weekend.

Good hardwired motorcycle tracker - would recommend
Wanted a tracker for my street motorcycle in the unfortunate case it got stolen (live in a city, so it happens). After reading TONS of different product reviews on different trackers/types/plans I decided to drop money on this. So far I'm glad I did, it's a hardwired small device a little bigger than a credit card, with 6 hours of backup battery. It might not be super intuitive to set up all the features but I just needed the basics (I only connected the red and black power wires directly to the battery terminals, left the orange and yellow unattached)if you want the ability to remotely cut engine power it takes some wire splicing and knowledge of circuits/wiring. The instructions can be a little confusing since they're pretty generalized, available on their website ( box doesn't contain anything except the tracker + wires). paid for the 16$/month plan which is good enough and has some cool features. Tracker is super accurate down to about a 10 foot radius and seems to turn on if it detects any bike movement. Also has good android app that works very well. They charge a $20 reactivation fee if you cancel service but it looks like you can suspend service for a few months (like winter) then reactivate when needed (summer)In conclusion, just what I was looking for, accurate, fairly easy to set up the basic features, would highly recommend if looking for a tracker for any vehicle.

A cheap tracker, easy to setup but with some issues.
I've been using the trackers and service for over 2 months now and here is what I've found so far:I Purchased this tracker for a motorcycle. The tracker itself works well most of the time. Occasionally the tracker just stops functioning altogether for a few hours or so. When I called customer service, they said its a glitch in their system but it's been over a month and the problem still happens. The comforting thing is that at least they can see where it actually is even if my tracking doesn't show its proper location, but still it's a problem none the less.Another issue is that it drains more than the features says. My bike battery drains within a day or 2 of not riding with the GPS connected as opposed to a week or more without it. I tested the drain at different voltages and it drains 29-31 mA at 9 volts. At 12 and higher voltages, however, it drains in excess of 60 and 70 mA. The reference target here is 50mA which is considered the maximum for a car to not cause a dead battery overnight. Regarding this issue, I contacted customer service and they graciously sent out another unit but again, the problem still persists.I bought the hydro tracker because customer service suggested that it may drain less mA but it still drains in excess of 50mA and as such still causes a problem.I am working on a separate power solution for the GPS and will update when finished and tested. In conclusion:PROS: cheap, easy to setup, good customer serviceCONS: tracking sometimes fails, excessive battery drain (60-70 mA at 12v/ 30mA at 9v)I was not paid, nor did I receive a free unit/service for this review
