Reading the app instructions carefully
Worked exactly as we wanted it to. Once you have handled a couple of transactions it was easy to operate. Ideal for table top sales where there is little or no Internet. Plus many people do not carry lots of cash, but are quite happy to pay by card, thereby boosting sales.

Fast and easy to use
Once set up on the SumUp system, my theatre has been able to use this to take electronic payments.The device itself is really easy to use. We had tried to use another card reader for our theatre that was supplied by our bank, but that was a real headache.This one, however, just works smoothly and well.The only fiddly bit was the onboarding process with SumUp - they needed to conduct their due diligence re our business (re money laundering I assume), so needed to see more details of our company (incl. Companies House and Charities Commission pages and some basic financial info), and also wanted to know details of the purposes for which we would use the card reader. All reasonable...just took a little time to do.

A real boon selling my stuff at Craft Fairs and Markets, incredible how many people don't carry cash anymore. Reasonably priced, too. Would have given 5 stars but it is a bit short on instructions, took a while to work out how to use it to take funds and transfer them to my own bank accounr

Very pleasantly surprised
The unit is the entry level, and on trial. So far, very good.What was a surprise is the amount of features and functions that come with sumup as standard, straight out of the box. Almost, intuitive. Everything is where you would expect it to be, and it's the first one i have seriously used.Simple, very clear, surprisingly easy to use. The accounting side was just wow, and this is a side of the business i do not enjoy, so thank you for that sumup.A very happy user so far.One element to consider if buying is a unit with the receipt printer, the basic can process and send electronic receipts which is fine for me, it suits my business.Thats not a criticism, just a point to consider when deciding which unit to select.
