I have a 5 month old German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, so he's basically a T-Rex - my wallet has struggled to find a bone/chew that is both safe AND long-lasting. Rawhide is a known choking hazard, and Nylabones/Benebones are made of plastic and nylon, and are NOT meant to be ingested. Every other dog bone/chew on the market that is branded as "long lasting" or for "extreme chewers" has fallen flat - seriously, I've bought them all, and my dog has annihilated every one of them within an hour. But hark! THIS ONE ACTUALLY DELIVERS. I was seriously so skeptical - like ok, this Himalayan yak cheese chew (what even is that) is somehow the magic fix? But let me tell you - we're on Day 3 of only ONE of these things from Raw Paws, and it's still going strong - with no end in sight. This yak cheese "bone" is surprisingly hard and durable (yet able to be safely gnawed); perfect for extreme chewers. Added bonus, I've never noticed any weird smell from this thing, whether it was new out of the package or after a few days of being chomped and drooled on. I have no idea how to comment on the taste of this thing - but my dog seems to love it. Only "negative" thing I've noticed is that it does leave some small pieces of yak cheese dust in it's wake after being gnawed on for awhile - nothing major, just something akin to yak cheese Parmigiano Reggiano? Easy to clean up with a quick vacuum swipe, but maybe keep that in mind before letting your dog gnaw on one of these while in bed or on the couch. Listen, it's only a dang dog bone - but it's safe for my dog, keeps him well occupied, and is actually, truly long lasting - even for the most insane chewers (like my T-Rex) - so color me impressed. To be clear, I wasn't compensated/paid/in a sweepstakes/whatever else to write this review - I'm just a dog owner thats tired of spending money on garbage. This stuff, however, actually delivers. High praise to the Raw Paws Himalayan Yak Chews.

My dog is very picky about what he eats, to the point that he "chooses" which treat he wants of the variety I have. When he choses this treat, he savors it. He chews it for a bit and will hide it for later. He'll find it a few hours or days later and chew on it again. He'll bring me the little chunk left and I'll soak & microwave for another day of cheese treat. It is the only thing he treats like this, saving for later. His toys don't last that long~ Quality of the treats are good, not smelly ( discolored or moldy) and do NOT break off in chunks like others we have gotten. Have purchased them a couple of times now.

Below is the review I wrote after my first purchase. My rating has not changed. Still a 5 after repeated purchases. My dogs haven't gotten bored and love the "puffed cheese ball" at the end. Excellent that they provide a direct email for any inquiries you have and answer promptly. First time I've tried this brand. My small dog is fussy and stopped eating the other brand when they changed mix. She is very prone to plaque. Chews help. My older dog has NEVER shown an interest in any himalayan type chew UNTIL these. He actually really likes them. They don't seem to bother his teeth (he's 10, no blood) like other hard treats. These last much longer than bully sticks so in the end cost less. All in all these have been a great find.

I was looking for anything for my dog that is a chewer and has a sensitive stomach. I read in a FB group about yak cheese and searched Amazon and landed on this brand. The product did not disappoint! My dog loved them from the first moment. His especially loved when we’d heat the small nub in the microwave after he’d chewed most of a stick. He’d devour these little bonus treats! We’ve reordered several times and he’s super excited every time he sees the packaging. This last order, this brand wasn’t available so we went with a different brand. They showed up today and he doesn’t like them. Not sure what the difference is, but he didn’t take it and just sit and chew like he normally does. So, we broke a piece off and heated it. He was very excited and then only ate a small portion. And this other brand stunk when it was heated! I cannot wait for these to be back in stock! We’ll definitely be ordering more as soon as they are!

I have bought Yak chews for my dog before. He did not like these. They have a strong Smokey smell that the others did not have. He turned his nose up and refused them. I trust his response and will not purchase again. Be careful and read - they should just be yak cheese and lime
