Royal Brown Basmati Rice - Authentic Long Grain Basmati Rice - 2 lb Bag

I've been using Royal Authentic Basmati Brown Rice for sometime now, and I'm thoroughly impressed! Having read other reviews, made sure to open this outside just in case. But inner bag was sealed and is bug free. Taste is great. Very pleased with this genuine basmati rice. Yes, prefer to buy American. but this actually TASTES better. and price is right. There are only two of us so this will last us a long time, and hope my next batch will be equally as perfect!

As a long-time consumer of Royal Basmati rice, I am pleased to report that it continues to meet my expectations. The aroma, texture, and taste are all equally enjoyable. The rice cooks well, regardless of the method used to prepare it. I recently used an instant pot, but it cooks well regardless of the method. It is naturally organic, and the length of the grain is as it should be. Once cooked, it fluffs up nicely.

This Brown Basmati rice arrived in a unbroken bag and a sealed plastic bag inside. Upon inspection, no sign of any bug what so ever as some reviewers mentioned. Very happy!

I've bought this in a larger size before in store. I really like this brand because they have a zipper for the bag. I wanted to get it online. Turns out, my bag is full of bugs. At first, I thought it was just on the outside and it was a misshaping that happened during packaging. But, if you look, you can see a hole in the plastic that exposed the rice to the bugs. It's faint, but, if you look at my pictures, you can see the silk that lets me tell that the interior of the bag was compromised. There was actually a good bit of maggots still crawling around in there too.

This Royal brand rice is a great value at $4.99. Here's why I'm a fan... It's sustainability grown, minimally packaged, and budget-friendly. This true long grain rice cooks up fragrant, fluffy and delicious. It's so easy to make and comes out perfect every time. Leftovers freeze well. This will permanently replace pre-cooked 90sec microwave rice in our home. I very highly recommend this!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This rice is delicious! I dont know what is up with the reviews saying there are bugs, but I would be skeptical- it has not been my experience. Instead, the grains are uniform and beautiful, and you can see the result when cooked. It is slightly more expensive than the amazon branded one, and I thought all rice was the same, however that one always had a few dark/green grains. Nothing major, it was still edible and reasonable, but this one results in rice that is less stick and more flavorful, even without salt or spices. Highly recommend!
