The best line I've used period.
I've tried every line made! This is by far the most flexible and strong I've ever used! The nice thing is despite it's strength it still has flexible to it so you are less likely to snap it. It cast excellent with virtually zero backlash or issues at the spool. It is so clear I often can't see it in the air after the cast. Its pricey but you are buying Seguars best line straight from Japan.. Its the only line I use especially for Trout or line shy species. Buy with confidence.

Impressive fishing line for novices and experienced anglers
I fall into the category of a "novice" fisherman, so the concept of fluorocarbon was new to me. For my fellow newbies, here's the summary. Fluorocarbon is nearly invisible underwater, so unlike regular fishing line (monofilament) it's much less likely to spook fish. Fluorocarbon is also resistant to abrasion, as well as to stretching, which makes it more sensitive to detecting fish bits. Seaguar is the company that invented it in the early 1970s and they still do it better than others. The first thing you'll notice about fluorocarbon is how thin it is. This 5lb test line has a diameter of about half the diameter of a regular monofilament line for the same strength. That's because flurocarbon is denser in general, and Seaguars technology allows even thinner and stronger line. This R18 line is softer and more manageable than some of their more advanced lines so it's not a bad choice for beginners and pros alike. It's easy to string onto a reel, easy to cast with, and easy to tie good knots. I appreciate that Seaguar has kept these made in Japan, and the quality shows.

More than just leader line
This is top-notch fluorocarbon line; the best of the best. It's from Japan, and nobody, nobody yet, does fishing line, nor rods and reels, better than them. Since I mainly fish ultra light equipment, I may just load one of my 500 or 1000 size reels with this entire spool of line. 100 meters of 0.165mm will fit perfectly. On the other hand, most of these reels are currently loaded with polyester line, another Japanese exclusive, which can hardly be found in the USA. Polyester can't be beat when it comes to sensitivity, casting distance, and zero stretch properties, but it requires a leader of mono or fluoro. On the other hand, polyester is not a tough line and will often break if I'm fishing structure or if a larger fish takes my bait. Thus, if I'm fishing structure, or if I'm targeting bass or pike or large trout, I like to have a reel of mono or fluoro ready to go. At 4 lbs. break strength (actual strength, not deflated strength, as most US line is) this R18 is perfect, both as an ultra light leader and main line. Yes, I've fished R18 before. In my opinion this is some of the best flouro available.

Great quality
I REALLY like this line! It is super smooth casting, seems to hold up to brush and is tough. Smooth operating line!

Great fluorocarbon with little memory.
I'm a big fan of Seaguar line and the R18 did not disappoint. I ordered the 14 pound and spooled it on my Daiwa baitcaster. I've thrown it for several weeks and one tournament. Memory for 14 pound on many fluorocarbon lines can be problematic, not so with the R18. It has held up well with minimal memory and no observed stretch. I do spray all my lines with KVD line conditioner though. I have had no break offs from fraying, even with fishing in rocky cover. Great line from a quality line company.

Nice fluorocarbon line for my lighter tackle in-shore rod.
I got this Seaguar JDM R18 Fluoro Ltd. Fishing Main Line, 100% Fluorocarbon, 109yds (20lb test) for my small rod/real that I use for lighter tackle fun inshore or in shallower reef locations for snapper etc. I spooled it onto my spinner reel fairly easily. The line essentially disappears into the salt water but is also strong even when coming into contact with rough terrain/objects. I also seem to feel the fish better than when I am using mono but that extra stiffness meant that I lost a few a little easier as well I think. All in all I am pleased with the line and would get again.

quality fluoro line
It's a name brand line, and it lives up to the expectations. Casting was as expected, and hold up to structure as well as any other fluoro line. There's a reason it's a trusted name in fishing line. My review process: 5*- Blew me away, features that are much better than anticipated (rare). 4*- Product is as expected, and good quality. This is a STRONG review. 3* - Product should function, but has minor flaws. (Average product) 2*- Product may work, but won't last long/cheaply made/major flaws/issues, item failure w/ some remediation from seller. 1* - Poor item/failure during use, or before, no remediation from seller.
