The cedarwood should be very effective against bed bugs when combined with citronella, and other ingredients.I would try these packets for taking along when traveling, and staying in motels. Put them in the luggage so the bugs don’t come home. Maybe putting one in the motel bed would make them move away.The odor of the packets is not unpleasant, and after a couple of days sitting out, I don’t notice any odor at all.

These packets are packaged in pairs, so four pairs. The pairs are sealed in plastic, so no smell escapes until opened, and then they smelled very strongly of citronella, making me wonder if they’d work on mosquitoes, too. Visiting family has become dodgy because of bedbugs, and I put a couple of these in our luggage at the bottom to deter bedbugs from coming home with us, and put some into the couch there. So far, so good! These are handy and convenient. I like that they’re natural and use essential oils.

Still get bedbug bites

this listing states that it is safe for pets, but it says right on the box to keep away from children and pets. and the ingredients are indeed toxic to pets. we have cats, so we won't be able to use this in our house. we are holding onto it to try in case we ever stay somewhere else.

I gave it 4 stars because I haven’t had the exposure to bed bugs to say it absolutely works! But I travel for work and stay in hotels nearly weekly. I feel so much better knowing that I have this in my suitcase to help keep the possible intruders away from my things. If I ever do get exposed, my hope is that I am not required to clean all of my things, suitcase, and in danger of bringing any home because this makes the difference and keeps them away! That said, citronella and other scents definitely keep other buggers away, so I’ll still take the added backup!

When I originally ordered this product I didn’t realize that this was for bed bugs. I do not have bed bugs, I was looking for something to keep centipedes and rolly Polly bugs away however I can say in the 24 hours that I’ve used the bags I have not seen any however the scent….. it is not horrible, in fact it smells somewhat nice, but it gives me a headache. Something about the scent is so noticeable and it makes my brain upset. I can’t order more but so far I can say that it works outside of its intended purpose.
