Type C test is for Hardness testing of Medium Hard Rubber, Elastomers, and Thermoplastics. The description says, for Flooring, Rubber, Tires, Plastics, Thermal Plastics. However, if you use this on something that is measured with a different type of Durometer, you will get a different reading. I tested it out on a rubber that supposedly had a 40A rating, and I was getting a reading with this Durometer of 80. So, I am not sure why the difference, unless the rubber I was sent was the wrong one or a different version of Shore type was used. Which is a possibility.
