Pricey, but worth every penny
I never really viewed white rice as something you even looked at different vendors for until about 9 years ago. Up to that point, I just assumed rice was rice, because it all tasted the same to me. Then a mate turned me on to this stuff, and I realized my entire rice-eating life had been a lie. To this day, I can't tell you WHAT, exactly, makes this rice better than the others, but I can pick it out in a blind taste test every time and, these days, if you try serving me something like Uncle Ben's, my mouth rejects it as inedible. Over the years since, I've tried all manner of "gourmet" rices from our local Asian markets, that I've found on Amazon, etc. Some more expensive, some less....but I keep coming back to Sekka. The value proposition has dipped over the years - what used to be a 20 pound bag is now 15, and what used to be $20 is now $30, but it's still worth it to me. What can I say? I learned I'm a rice snob.

Good quality results with effort
It's good but you really need to wash it a lot to get rid of the talc; otherwise is tastes too sweet. Also this rice should be soaked and steamed for a little longer than standard rice. If you don't do those two things the rice will be way too sweet and too chewy. (Like mochi rice) If you take those precautions, then you will get top notch quality rice! Really tasty, fluffy, dense and not too chewy. After all texture is everything in rice.

Fancy
I have had cheap rice bought conveniently at my local super market because i work a lot and don't want to go to whole foods on the weekend because its my weekend. The 9-5ers knows exactly what i mean. Then i started looking around on Amazon and found all these great options. I started with Nishiki and it blew me away and this is also great too. It's very good as it is but even better with some Chinese food. Sekka is truly fancy premium rice. Only 150 per serving and majority of rice are 160 per serving (1/4 cup)

Medium Rice is a hard find
My wife loves medium grain rice. I decided to give this brand a try. I am now making the 2nd purchase. This will be the number one choice for us moving forward. Easy to cook, good flavor and excellent to mix into other dishes. I enjoy sticky rice since I enjoy using chop sticks. My wife enjoys using it for all of her Puerto Rican dishes. Do not hesitate to give this one a try.

Born and raised in Japan, I was never very happy about the quality of Japanese-style rice in Canada until I bought this brand on Amazon. I was quite sceptical about this rice as its price was quite reasonable comparing to other brands of Japanese rice sold on Amazon, but I decided to give it a try as $15 for about 7kg of rice? there is not much to lose... To my surprise, however, it is hands-down the best Japanese rice I ever cooked. The aroma was subtle but elegant, and the cooked rice was shining when I opened the rice cooker. It tastes sweet and sticky in the perfect way. Just one thing you have to make sure when cooking this rice is to rinse well before you cook it, as it is not the musenmai (no-wash-rice) kind. Change the water (about 4,5 times) till the water becomes transparent and no longer white-ish. Then, you are good to go!

This one gets close to the taste and aroma of some of the best sushi rice I have ever had.

I fell in love with this rice the moment I tried it and I have since ordered more. I have used it for Sushi, Onigiri,(rice balls) as well as plain sticky rice and none of them were a disappointment. I will continue to buy this rice over any local brands and I would highly recommend it not only for it's flavor and perfection in my sushi as well as other cooking projects but for the affordability. I live in Canada and this is available on PRIME so it takes only two days to arrive and the price is under twenty dollars.

It seems like old rice. I have bought same sushi rice in once of the stores and the quality is good but this one it is not giving me the taste of sushi rice 👎👎👎
