Works great. Note it works well but needs to be changed more often.

Great filter

I have a double water filter system on a high-end cube ice maker and we change the filters every 3 months. This keeps the ice tasting good, but even more important, keeps the internal mechanism of the ice machine working properly and clean. Water filters are many times cheaper than replacing an ice machine due to poor filtering/maintenance.

Concerned by reviews. Found filter is heavy, making it the 0.5 micron some said it wasn't. Water is actually very good. No vinyl taste, and the water has a smooth feel and tastes really good. Better than the USA made Matrixx I removed. Only issue I had was it came in a soft padded envelope. Shipping didn't appear to cause any damage, but should have more protection. Does slow down the flow, but not much to be not useful.

Works as it should in my motorhome

This is a "typical" filter size that is common for under-sink filters. I have an AO Smith under sink "chlorine filter" that really didn't work as advertised.The AO Smith replacement filter is labeled as "I" and is also shown as (AO-MF-B-R) on the box.This filter is a simple, exact-sized drop-in replacement for the filter that came with the under sink kit.The flavor is amazing and immediately noticeable.When you get the filter, you will need to let it run for a few minutes, so the filter can "stabilize" itself, for lack of better words. It is made from coconut and as should be expected, there is a milky-white, starchy-looking color to the water for the first few gallons.It took about 2 minutes or so to work through the white-colored water, and then it was perfectly clear.One of the single best things I've ever bought. Could not be happier.The water tastes amazing.

I've used the Hydronix SMCB-2510 for past several years. The 0.5 micron rating is finest level of charcoal block filtering I've found so far. I use it in a simple countertop to faucet to filter and back to faucet setup so the greater restriction of the 0.5 micron is not a problem. The normal faucet flow is about 1 gpm and with filter inserted the flow is about half that. Well worth it to clean the water.A TDS meter shows that my regular well water comes in around 140-150ppm. With the filter in use the ppm drops to around 120. My water contains the usual red iron and lime/calcium typical for well water. I wasn't expecting the filter to make the water pure - just to reduce some of the solids and improve the taste. The filter is doing as I expected.I use a filter a year which is longer than probably should; but with running majority of water through the filter for cooking, drinking, etc. I haven't found significant problems with bacteria or other contaminant buildup on the filters when they have been removed.Overall I'm very pleased with the Hydronix SMCB-2510 filters and will continue using/buying these.

I use 3 different filters in my house. I just found out that it's past time to replace the biggest one. So it's been between Hydroviv and Zerowater to keep me. Doing great!👍
