Looks awesome and throws accurately
I'm not an expert axe thrower, but I do have a few. Of all of them, this is the second best looking one. (The winner has a spike in the opposite direction. I mean, c'mon.) I love this viking style ax head. It's somewhat balanced. Might be a little off center, but so far, I'm loving it. It's as fun to throw as it looks. 4.5 stars and bullseye! (4.5 rounds up to 5 in Amazon, which I think is fair in this case.)I hope you liked my review. I always try really hard to write reviews are are candid, honest, and helpful for your shopping decisions. No AI here... all the poor writing is mine and mine alone! :-P

A good value for a throwing or bushcraft axe
Nicely balanced and easy to throw axe. The long handle is straight and smooth to release, but not so polished that it would be slippery. The edge is honed to a very sharp edge, for an axe, and a very even grind.I threw it a few times with good results. It is light enough for long practice sessions without wearing out my throwing arm too quick, and being light it is easier to control.I used it for some bush craft projects. The bearded axe style allows me to choke up on the handle for carving and finer chopping. The sharp edge makes it easy to shave wood.A good axe for throwing or bush craft, and a good value at a budget price.

Throws Good, Neat Shaped Blade
The axe arrived neatly with a rubber blade protector over the head to keep the sharp bits safelty away from your person. The handle doesn't seem to have the print on the side as it does in the listing image, and I'm a little disappointed in the lacquer quality on the wood, I may sand this to original appearance, as the wood looks good underneath in my opinion. Despite this, the axe head is solid, and has a homemade appearance to it, looking like it was shaped by hand. It throws pretty well, and it's weight is manageable even by my children, I've gotten good sticks on plywood with it and left us with dozens of hours of fun, it feels good to get a good throw and stick with this axe!It also looks great hung up on the wall as a decor piece when not being thrown.I definetly recommend it if you're looking for a throwing axe, or even maybe a functional display piece.

Misleading Quantity
Fun fact, my wife is actually really good at throwing hatchets AND we have a bar a mile from our home with axe throwing lanes. So I asked her to give this one a shot. She said the balance feels a bit off and it looks like it’s meant for Viking cosplay, not actual throwing. Some things I noticed and concerns that I have is the axe head has a dowel pin going through the handle. With use axe heads always loosen on the handle and you need to bang a wedge in tighter or bang it on the ground so the axe head slides into the tapered handle more firmly. So as this loosens with wear, that pin is eventually going to split the end of the handle. All in all, it looks cool but isn’t going to be very functional in the long run. Also, the listing clearly states a set of two- we only received one at the price point of $46 dollars. For that price point this is not a good value for this axe. Due to the improper quantity, noticeable design flaws, and feedback from my expert axe thrower, this item is only worth 2 stars.

Decent!
Just got this after waiting about a month and a half. Upon initial inspection, the axe looks good, The head is free from defects except one little gouge that I cleaned up in 10 seconds with a file. The head feels lighter than I was expecting, and the edge doesn't feel all that sharp, but when I swung it into a log of poplar, it bit right in. I was actually surprised at how well it was chopping up that log, and how far it was sinking in. I have not yet had an opportunity to throw the axe yet, but you can feel the balance in your hands (like I said, the head feels lighter than expect, whole axe feels well balanced). There is actually a ground post on the back of the axe head that looks like you could actually use for nails or stakes. The head is permanently affixed to the handle with pins, and if you look, you can see right through the hole all the way to the other side. The head is firmly mounted, no movement, and the handle itself seems to be good and solid. There does appear to be some kind of gunk where the head meets the handle, maybe some kind of compound they used for an easy, uniform fitment? I don't know, but I will be cleaning that up because it looks a little gross.I'm pretty happy with the axe. I question the steel, but I'll keep putting it through the paces and let you know if I see any failures.

Balanced and Sharp
This tomahawk is surprisingly sharp so be careful. I found it to be well balanced and very solid. The grip is well designed and provides proper grip as well as no snag points when you release it. I just wish this came in a set of three. Great quality and highly recommended.
