I would be lying if I told you this stuff makes me feel great, or cures warts, or some such malarky. But I take it anyway. Why? Please allow me explain why I take alpha-lipoic acid: I have leukemia, and I take a special pill every day that is extraordinarily hard on the liver, so much so that I must be examined every three months to make sure my liver has not become enlarged which would indicate I need a different pill or treatment. Being a pragmatic man I see a Naturopath for my overall health, and after hearing my story about the leukemia, he thought for a bit, then prescribed alpha-lipoic acid as a 'food for the liver' so to speak, to keep my liver healthy while it is being mistreated by another drug. How am I doing? Well, I've been on the drug for eight years and no sign of my liver getting larger. Does that mean the alpha-lipoic acid is actually working? Who knows? I just know that I'm willing to continue the regimen because I'm doing fine on it. And Doctor's BEST is the least expensive source of alpha-lipoic acid by a wide margin. So thumbs up for this bottle of pills.

Since High School (1968), I have had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My nephew recommended Alpha- Lipoic Acid and I ordered it through Amazon. I love it! I have had so much energy since I started taking it. I am pre-diabetic and it brought my blood sugar down. My AC1 blood test went from 6.7(7.00 is the end of the line). Good product

I took these capsules with the hope it might be the magic factor, to help remove the major obstacle 4 years of prednisone has had on my to attempts to lose weight. These capsules didn’t work for me in that regard. On the positive side, I had been told my cholesterol was up - and several months after taking these supplements it was normal again, and still is. This does not prove cause and effect. But I’m still going to take these supplements in the hope they are having a benefit. Experts say Alpha Lipoic Acid may potentially may help with weight loss (though it didn’t for me), and it may lower cholesterol (which might have happened in my case), and it may reduce diabetes related nerve pain. I have found Doctor’s Best to be generally a good brand. The alpha lipoic acid capsules are easy to swallow, and the capsules were in tact in the bottle.
