16:10 Aspect Ratio pretty much perfect
UPDATE 2024-08-30:I'm upgrading my review to 4 stars...Suggestion to potential buyers... start with the Color Mode "User".I went straight for the "Coding Dark Theme", and without having any other reference, thought the display was mid-AF to be quite honest.I kept working through the settings and for color, sharpness, and contrast right out of the box it is very good. Now, here's my caveat... the Display Pilot software never seemed to actually show the full resolution of the monitor even with HiDPI turned on.The only thing that made it all work was installing SwitchResX and using the 2560 x 1600 HiDPI resolution. With those two changes I am very happy with this display now, but for someone who hasn't had to deal with non-standard aspect ratios on a mac, it might make them return the monitor thinking it sucked. For reference, the other monitor I had issues with was the LG 28" 16:18 DualUp Monitor.Out of the box on a mac, that monitor was hot garbage. I hated it so much I stopped using it until I found out about the other software and tried it again... after that it was amazing. My $.02--------------I'm pretty sure I'm the target demo for this monitor.Been in software engineering game for 25 years. This monitor is a true unicorn. There is nothing else like it on the market that I've been able to find. and I've been chasing the perfect monitor for quite a while. My benchmark reference monitor is the LG 27" 4K UltraFine. This is a beautiful monitor. Best monitor for the money in my opinion. However, due to health issues I've had to change how I work.A 27" monitor might sound a bit on the small side, but I now have to have the monitor much closer to my eyes and a 27" monitor that close creates a major amount of neck and eye strain moving side to side, or when focusing on one side over the other. Scaling makes it worse for me.So, I've been on the hunt for a diminutive monitor that wasn't a total piece of garbage.Unless you want a sceptre, there is little to choose from in 24" and below QHD and above resolution range.I randomly came across this monitor and it's really what I've been looking for forever. The aspect ratio for my use case is ideal. It feels almost like a CRT monitor from before most people reading this were even born. That said, the monitor is unnecessarily heavy and thick owing to the power supply being placed in the body of the monitor vs. as a "box" connected inline with power cable (like the vast majority do).The stand is excellent quality. No complaints.Overall, this monitor is overpriced and can only command that price point due to lack of any alternative.I'd much rather have a 4K panel and a cheap stand that I can just get an arm for vs. a beautiful stand, a heavy weight to give the false appearance of quality, and an outdated 2k panel.Make no mistake... I'm keeping this monitor for the aspect ratio alone, but it's not a panacea. Do better BenQ.

Awesome Display for development but pricey
I was skeptical to buy this one based on the fact that it is meant for developers specifically, thinking of it some marketing gimmick. But thank God I bought it. The text in my IDEs have never been so clear ever before. I wish it was priced between 250 to 275 to make it more affordable for the developers :) so that I could have bought one more for myself. It will make a best dual screen setup, one for reading documents, emails and chats, DB Queries, whatever textbbased stuff and the other one dedicated for an IDE. There is an 28" version as well, but it's double the price. I would buy two 24" instead and make life more easy.BenQ themselve can sell this in pair to make it more affordable two monitor set up for Devs. If they can sell a pair for $600 nothing else in the market can beat it.

It's great
I really like everything about this monitor but one thing, it is not compatible with monitor lamps because it is just to thick! For the same reason I have to push it all the way back of the table because it is too close if I just make it stand where others would be fine. But overall the quality and image are amazing, the sound is not the best but it is working fine. I also enjoy the adjustability as you can turn as much as you want at any height!

Great product
When I got my hands on this new monitor made just for us programmers, I was pretty excited to give it a whirl. The first thing that caught my attention is its cozy design and handy eye care features which are perfect for those late-night code sessions.Clarity: coding on this device so far is a comfortable experience. Text is razor-sharp, especially with the "coding mode" activated. The contrast is good which makes your code clear. They've added light and dark modes to suit various preferences, catering to all tastes—even those quirky coders who rock a white background. Just a simple press of the button beneath the monitor and voila. And let's not forget those cute little buttons on the part below the monitor.Eye care: the night hour function (not sure if I make it right). It can adjust the brightness to very dark and save my eyes from hurting during late-night coding sessions. BenQ is renowned for its eye-care functions, and I can personally vouch for it.Also, about the 16:10 aspect ratio. It's not everyone's usual setup, but this allows more lines of code without constant scrolling. But I really wish they had a bigger size of this monitor.Overall, this monitor meets my expectations for a coding monitor. It connects smoothly with my MacBook Air m2 and goes well with my screenbar. The things I wish for would be a larger version, higher resolution, and a more chic design (maybe make it in white?) and I'll make another purchase.

Fantastic
Finally, a hi-dpi 16:10 monitor! Crisp text, good brightness, and good reflection handling. Hoping this one will start a trend.
