Excellent sound
12.16.25: There is a new firmware and software update. You can now use the equalizer over Bluetooth. Final Update 11.25.25: I’m moving this back to 5 stars. While the bass is poor for outside, when it’s inside, it sounds excellent and that’s where it would be used the most anyway. Update 6.7.25: I took the speaker outside and most of the bass disappeared. I pushed the bass from low to high and it’s just not there. When I take it inside the bass comes back. I bought this for indoor/outdoor listening but in the end it is a very good indoor speaker but a poor outdoor speaker. I’m going to go with the new JBL ParryBox Encore Essential 2. I know it will sound good because I already own the PartyBox 310 and two PartyBox 320’s which I both love but which aren’t always convenient to take outside because of the 12 steps I have to go up/down. Update 1.6.25: I spent a lot of time adjusting the eq and have it in the sweet spot that sounds so good. Part of the issue was the bass, it is so powerful it can over power the mids and highs. Once you find the right spot for the bass, the rest is easier to adjust. And like most speakers you need to find that perfect volume where it sounds the best and I did. I love this speaker and listen to it almost daily. Update 1.29.25: I have about 20 hours of listening on the Brane X now. The bass is excellent, the mids/highs are a little warm for my taste. You can adjust the eq but it only cools the speaker down so much. I have 2 JBL PartyBox Stage 320’s. While the 320’s bass is not as low as the Brane X (it still thumps in your chest), the JBL’s overall sound quality is better in every way. The Brane X gets daily use because the Jbl’s are large so I stow them away. So for portability and best bass, the Brane X is preferred. But if I could only own one or two speaker(s), I would choose the JBL PartyBox Stage 320 over the Brane X. Brane is going to be a HUGE company. The bass tech is amazing. Their first attempt into the over crowded portable speaker market is well received. Update 1.16.25: I felt I had an issue with the speakers battery. I worked with Brane customer service through email and phone. Over the course of a few days, they offered to send me a replacement speaker. When the speaker arrived it had a prepaid return label inside. The new speaker appears to have corrected the issue. They were extremely professional, this company is the next big thing. Extremely satisfied. I’ve been searching for the perfect Bluetooth speaker for 15 years. If it sounded good high volume, it sounded thin at low volume. I wanted something that I could take outside yet listen too inside. I wanted a speaker that had bass when I was listening low and having a conversation. Yet I also wanted bass when I turned it louder. I currently have a Marshall Middleton, Marshall Woburn III, JBL PartyBox 310 and two JBL PartyBox 320’s. The Middleton is just OK. The Woburn III sounds excellent at mid/higher volume but not at low volume (not much bass). The JBL PartyBox 310 has nice bass but not at lower volume. The two JBL PartyBox 320’s sound excellent through the entire low/mid/high frequency range but only excellent with bass at mid/high volume. The Brane X hits the sweet spot. It sounds excellent low volume and excellent at mid volume. The bass sounds good at both volumes. I turned it up to around 70%. My wife was in the living room, I was in the bedroom and she said “wow the floor was vibrating”. It just might be that I have found that elusive speaker that I have been searching for, for such a long time. And YES the bass has to be heard/felt to believe all that you have read. It really does hit that hard. I mainly tested it using WiFi/Airplay 2 with Tidal Hi Res files. I noticed the bass seems noticeably better when using WiFi vs Bluetooth. Buy it, you just might be surprised at what you hear. BTW the speaker is very small which makes it more shocking when you hear it.

An insanely great speaker !
I live in Belgium and during a trip in Austin for SXSW I discovered the Brane X. I immediately order one. The packaging was easy to open. - First good surprise : the power plug is at the European standard (Type E) and the transformer is universal (so 220v compatible). - Second good surprise : I had my US Apple Account handy but that wasn’t necessary as I could download the app on the Belgian app store ! - Third good feeling : the app is already translated in french ! I had some trouble to do the initial setup, The led colours meaning was a bit cryptic to me. The power button is a bit tactile but not much. It took me a minute to manage simply switching on the speaker. I needed a manual ;-) First setup I could not join my wifi network so i skipped and I did pairing it in Bluetooth settings of iOS settings and the Brane X appeared in the app. Immediately i could experience the deep room filling bass. The default setting for bass was a bit too much for the room I was in so I set them to medium using the app. The sound is real big and pleasant to my ears, even if it’s not neutral to say the least... I tried some funk, jazz and good old rock and roll song that i use to test all my speakers systems Then I wanted to try setting up the wifi again, but I could not find a way once the speaker had been added in the app. The solution was to do a reset by pressing the + and - touch keys for a few seconds and remove it from the Brane iOS app. I started the pairing process again and my Wifi network appeared normally. On that screen I thought the password fields were to input my wifi network password. But I was wrong, these are to add a password to connect to the Brane X using Airplay 2. With Airplay password activated the streaming that was not working well and it was cumbersome. So I did a second reset and this time I did not fill the password fields. I realised that the Brane app get the wifi network password automagically from the iPhone. I could use the Brane X with Airplay. I tried playing music in 3 rooms using the Brane X, a pair of KEF LS50 Wireless and an Homepod mini, and all of them were perfectly in sync. I moved across the rooms with the Brane X in my hands, which is the first time I could do that. I noticed that the Bass sound really vary from a room to another. Example Bathroom, Bedroom with carpet and curtains or in the garden, … great that you can change the setting in the app. Good suprise : despite the fact that I was moving the wifi streaming music kept ininterrupted thanks to the buffering in the Airplay 2 protocol. I have 8 Access Points in my home so it was roaming fine from one wifi AP to another. Then I setup Alexa and tried listening to a few radio (French) channel. This worked wonderfully at the first attemps. We spent the first evening trying all sort of Alexa services : jokes, music, bedtime stories, etc. My wife wants to keep it in her Atelier/Office as she hate the Homepods for a good reason : Siri is setup in french for my whole house (my main language) and she speaks english and croatian only. She loved having Alexa in English and she played her pop songs on the Brane X with very visible satisfaction. My kids like it too and and could not resist playing a few songs. My conclusion : it's a unique speaker on the market with it's unmatched bass, it's strong amplification, it's small format and batteries that allow to move it easily in the garden, the attic or the garage. It can be used with Airplay with other speakers, and also in Bluetooth which is convenient if you go far from your wifi, for example in the park (good that it's resistant to some rain).

Expensive, but Mighty.
Wow. First day with this speaker, and man, it is such a wonderful piece of tech! The bass is phenomenal, especially for its size. It sounds good over Bluetooth, but not out-of-this-word good. However, when you stream over Wi-Fi, the clarity of this speaker goes through the roof. The highs, mids, and bass tie together wonderfully, and songs sound absolutely outstanding! The speaker build quality is solid and feels quite premium. Connecting the speaker to Wi-Fi was straightforward and intuitive, and the app is easy to understand with a simple EQ to adjust the audio profile to your liking. I tend to max the bass, and then have a slight increase in the EQ bars, with the treble near max also. The speaker is easy to carry and move around, but does have some heft to it. All in all, yes, this is an expensive speaker. For parties I would recommend picking up JBL PartyBoxes, such as the 110's or Encore's, since you will get the most bang for your buck there. If you want a supreme sound experience though, this Brane X will truly deliver, especially over Wi-Fi playback. With a sleek look, decent app, and awesome RAD speaker technology, I would definitely suggest you get yourself one of these, if sound quality is truly what you're after!

ottima qualità sia di costruzione che sonora. Trovo solo scomodo passare dalla rete x accedere semplicemente all'equalizzatore. Buona la durata della batteria . Richiede un telefono "massiccio" e moderno altrimenti lo prosciuga letteralmente causa il codec bluetooth HD esigente. All'inizio l'ho detestato , ora mi piace.
