Hohner Accordions Hohner Harmonica (532BX-A)

I love these. I read reviews about too much air leakage, etc... I'm not playing in a band so maybe there are things I dont know. Very crisp, full, and just nice for the price. Great beginner to better fill in the gap to pro. Remember, you gotta buy 12 of these for a set. ** I've seen a lot of old reviews about how the air flow is difficult. I have one from about 10+ years ago and yeah, its hard to play. The newer ones (~1 yr old) are so much better.

The Hohner Blues Harp MS, key of A, is a great harp. I find it easy to bend with a sweet and mellow sound. Around $15 to $20 less than a Hohner Rocket, key of A, harp. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and air tightness of this harp since I've heard some negative comments about the Blues Harp. I definitely did not experience this.

I got this as a gift for my girlfriend who wanted to learn how to play the harmonica. I have never played harmonica before or had even picked up a harmonica before this. I can tell you it looks nice and very nicely crafted. I play guitar, piano and violin and it has a good tune. Not as easy to play as the harmonica she had before, but maybe that's just because the other harmonica was her father's and it looks like he used it quite a bit. So maybe harmonica's have a break in period? I am not sure. The trim on it is very nice and I would recommend it for anyone looking to buy it as a present, it is inexpensive and you can use it as a way to bond and jam together. I know I did.

I wish I could give this harmonica five stars, but some of the lower holes can't seem to break in on the draw no matter how long I work them out. Having said that, this is a beautiful harmonica otherwise and the rest of the keys sound great. The wood and metal work well together. Awesome for blues playing if you have a pal with a guitar!

Before I start, let me say that I'm a novice harmonica player at best. However, being a beginner, I've now picked up 4 harps all of different types and keys; trying to figure out what I like. This is my favorite by far. Some have complained about the sharpness around the comb,I was never bothered by it. Since I suck(ed), some of the notes were difficult for me at first. Drawing on 2 for example. This harmonica was by far the easiest and fastest for me to get a solid, clean sound. I love the sound from the wood comb and I picked up bending fairly quickly with this harp. Many compare the Blues Harp to the Marine Band; the sound and look is similar. I prefer my BH over my MB all day. The Blues Harp is larger and just seems generally easier and smoother to play in my opinion. To sum things up: If you are a beginning harmonica player I recommend you pick up a few different harmonicas to see what style and sound you like. I'd highly suggest that you try the Blues Harp as one of your test harps. Hey, you might hate it, but I fell in love and I'll be ordering a full set soon, you might too.

I bought this to play a song on youtube that was this key. The song has draw 2 and 3 holes much. I am getting air when drawing 2 & 3. This is the only Hohner Blues harmonica that I own. Can’t say anything about sound quality if no sound is coming out.
