Great for fine sharpening!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have stones, but I wanted to try new sharpeners that's why I got this to try, and it was worth it. It's simple to operate, you basically attach the sanding disks on the sides, add the knife to the magnet base and roll the sharpening roller, easy as that. For the price point, for sure a good purchase, it's a sturdy tool, doesn't feel like cheap material at all. Works well: Sharpens the knifes very decently, unless your knife is all dented and stuff, you may need to sharpen it first with a heavier tool, then come to this one for fine sharpening. Design: the angle helps to define the sharpening lines (sharp vs fine sharp). Some big knifes may be harder to get it to work due to the size of the roller/base.

No more dull knives
Works as advertised. The triple magnets hold the knife nicely. The extra discs are a bonus. I do wish it had come with a finer disc for a more polished edge but all in all it works very well.

Great tool for large knives, smaller ones maybe not so much
There is a lot to like about this sharpener. It comes with ample replacement discs that are magnetically attached to the roller, making replacements super easy. The powerful magnets hold large blades in place while sharpening. Smaller blades, like a 4" paring knife, have proven to be more problematical, with the tip of the blade moving up as I move the sharpener against it (I'm sharpening edge down). Now if you peel back the rubber pad on the angled side of the wooden block you expose three 10 mm magnets. Put that paring knife over those magnets and it wants to center itself over them, far from the bottom edge where you want it to be to sharpen. Now the rubber pad over those magnets does hold the knife in position for sharpening but it just doesn't hold it well enough to keep it from moving if any pressure is applied from the roller. That knife tip just attracted to that magnet in the center.

Very sharp results!
Works very well on knives that are large enough. small knives like a paring knife are so narrow the magnets hold them below the edge of the block out of the contact area with the sharpening. if knife is too tall, using roller on a cutting board to raise it up will improve the result. Finally, finish with a stroup to get an amazing sharp edge.

Good sharpener, missing exdtra discs
It is a good sharpener and easy to use. Gives a good edge even to inexpensive knives. Spare discs were missing from the box. There should be three of each grit. Only the discs installed on the sharpener were present. Plus I cannot find a way to contact seller. Would be a 5 star rating if extra discs were in the box

Nifty idea, but no good in practical application
This is easy to use, but the magnet(s) that hold the knife in place are not very strong, so the knife will wobble, making a defined angle impossible to attain. Not worth the money.

Very limited practical use
I found this sharpener to be very limited in practical use; it was only good for larger, wider blades. The magnet gripped the blades with good strength but the area it gripped the blade was really not adjustable enough to set the blade in the proper position to use it on medium width or smaller blades. For chef-type knives it would work pretty well I think but it’s limited to just this size/style of blade. Due to its limited range of use I returned the set. One would be better off to learn to use a different method of sharpening, such as diamond plates or ceramic rods, to have the versatility of being able to sharpen all of your kitchen knives as well as pocket knives and other such tools.
