The front of the device, beneath the brand name, is scratched up. Functionally, the device seems to work well, but it produces a very annoying, seemingly random crackling noise. This is not acceptable for most people who would purchase this device. Therefore, this device is faulty and useless. Do not purchase!

It does not sing or dance by itself, but it transmits audio perfectly which I am guessing is the reason one would purchase this kind of things in the first place. All I had to do to plug it in (tested with an Arch Linux box) and it promptly appeared as a new audio card. The sound quality is excellent. The adapter has a rather industrial look but is very small and so easy to hide. I appreciate that it provides both optical and coaxial output. The value for money is very good. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

It worked right out of the box. I'm taking audio out of a micro PC USB port and connecting to my receiver's optical-in port. Music is great. I'm not experiencing any extraneous noises or any transfer issues.
