This product actually works !
I was sceptical about the claims made by dylon black and dark detergent but thought it was worth a try at the offer price. I read and followed the instructions , still not convinced that the load of dark laundry would be anything except clean .The first wash was a suble change but the clothes were soft and fresh . What a surprise I had when wash after wash the colours continued to improve ,not only renewing the colour but the fabric looked so much smoother. After several, more than 6 , washes the difference is quite amazing and well worth taking time to recommend in a review . Economical to use ,it does what it says on the label and laundry smells clean and fresh without adding seperate fabric conditioning product. P.s I 'googled ' product to find out how it works to renew dark colours but not dye the fabric.Clever stuff

New favourite!
Purchased when our usual brand was unavailable. This is now my favourite! Good quality detergent, cleans well and nothing but a clean fresh smell on gym clothes and the dogs towels. Will be purchasing again.

Be gone stink
I've tried quite a few different sports detergents to try and get rid of sweaty smells from running gear. They have either not gotten rid of the smell or its own smell is a bit gads. This stuff was great, no BO smells after the first wash, didn't come back as soon as I put it on and the detergents own scent is pleasant and subtle. It was also a lot cheaper than many others, will buy again!

So glad they finally started selling this here
These Dylon detergents are, according to Henkel in an article on a grocery industry website, just rebranded versions of their Persil and similarly named detergents sold in Europe and The Middle East. They obviously can't use a name that sounds remotely anything like Persil in the UK, due to Unilever holding the trademark since 1931 here. Having used this in Spain last year labelled as Henkel's Perlan [Spanish Persil] brand I can confirm it is indeed exactly the same product. It also appears to be the same as Henkel's Persil abaya shampoo sold in the Middle East, though sadly this Dylon version isn't also available in Oud fragrance (they are missing a trick there). This works as claimed, though I would say that the Woolite equivalent has a slight edge for most black clothes as it can turn some cheaper black clothes which aren't quite truly black, jet black. Then again the Woolite one has an awful smell and works out as very expensive, also the Woolite one has small amounts of indigo purple dye in which can turn some synthetic black fabrics a weird shade of navy over time. So this Dylon detergent is a safer option as it doesn't appear to contain any dye and it smells much nicer too which is a bonus. Edited to update: this formulation appears to have been updated since when I used it last year and is now slightly purple so it may have dye or pigment added, so it does restore clothes to jet black and makes cheaper not quite black, black clothes truly black as well. I will see if over time it makes them blueish, but so far it hasn't. It also smells really nice and you really do only need to use the dosage specified on the bottle for it to wash well, unlike so many other detergents these days.

No difference in colour
This gets three stars, because it works as a detergent, your clothes come out smelling nice, soft, and clean. The issue is that the premium price tag comes from a promise it can't deliver on, there was zero improvement to the colour of the stuff we washed, even after going through three bottles of the stuff.

Seems to do the job
Seems to work, I am now halfway through the first bottle and I think the dark colours are better preserved, more vivid. Even the stuff which has been worn for a year looks better. I use it together with Dylan sheets for colour transfer
