Beautiful deck
I used to have a technics sl 1210, and this deck, feels and looks just like it, looks amazing. Looks and performs really well. I’ve added a new Numark dj stylus and it sounds flawless.

Great turntable for the money.
Great turntable using it to play records and dvs with traktor, very solid feeling unit, just not as solid as 7000s but great for the money compare to similar priced other brands.

Get yourself in the Reloop...!
I spend too much time and money on hifi, perpetually optimistic that there is an audio Nirvana somewhere that my persistence will eventually be rewarded for. However, much disappointment seems to be the case in the meantime, with too many items turning in a high standard of mediocrity rather than the aural utopia I aspire to. However, not so in the case of the Reloop RP4000 MK2, it's good, very good indeed - I haven't bought it as a DJ deck, but I wouldn't doubt it's credentials in that department. This thing is built like a tank, weighing in at a hefty 20lbs - it's solid to say the least, and all the DJ bells and whistles are there, high torque motor, pitch adjust, cue light, and all well executed as far as I can see. Is it a Technics 1200 killer? Not quite, but the difference isn't night and day either. At this price point a few things have to give, like the non detachable phono cable, and the Ortofon OM Black cartridge, although the detachable headshell opens up a world of experimental upgrade paths to try. Lifter mechanism feels a bit mechanical and cheap, but it does the trick. It's the only week spot really, all the other mechanicals and electricals have a good quality feel to them. Speed control is excellent, with or without a record weight in place. The platter, although appearing well made, lacks the heft of a Technics equivalent - the included felt slip mat is ok, but a resonance reducing cork or acrylic slip mat is an obvious first step upgrade. That said out of the box it all works very well together, and produces a very musical rendition of the LP's I've run through it so far. Soundstage is good, bass is punchy, but the top end is missing a bit of detail and finery, although treble is well controlled on the whole, and not fatiguing. The lack of detail, I'd put that down wholly to the stylus, but as I say, the overall sound is very musical and enjoyable to listen to - and the noise floor is pretty low all things being considered. Overall IMHO this is an excellent package for the price, just bear in mind you'll need to add another £35 or so for the dust cover. UPDATE Continuing to enjoy the overall impression of the lovely hifi sound/ soundstage created by this turntable, however the only weakness I have found at the price is the lack of vta adjustment. It's a shame really, as it's the only weakness, moreso when you look at equivalently priced audio technica turntables which do have this facility. The ability to change cartridges easily is desirable, but without the vta leave you with that nagging feeling in the back of your mind that things are slightly off perfect. Nevertheless, I have switched to a Nagaoka mp-110 cartridge and I have to say that the overall impression of quality hifi sound I'm gaining for a relatively modest investment is mind-blowing; I think what Reloop have nailed is an average vta setting that works with a wide range of cartridges and they should be commended for this. However, if you want the vta adjustment you have to go up to the 7000 series, and I have a nagging feeling that won't be too long before I militate in that direction..... In the meantime, the 4000 mk 2 is undeniably an excellent turntable for the price and will satisfy most people who aren't aural-retentive. For those of us who are on the audiophile spectrum, I suspect you may want to invest a little extra for the big brother 7000 series, where I suspect then will almost be going toe to toe with Technics at less than half the price. No doubt about it, I'm a Reloop fan - why pay more?
