This potting mix is perfect for Alocasia. It has great drainage but still holds enough moisture to keep the roots happy — exactly what these picky plants need. Since switching to this soil, I’ve noticed healthier leaves, better growth, and fewer issues with root rot. The mix feels high-quality, and my plants clearly love it. Highly recommend if you want to give your Alocasia the best chance to thrive. Mine even had baby plants!

I combine the Chunky Orchid mix with Foxfarm to create a perfect soil for my anthuriums. The large size of the perlite and coconut is perfect for aeration to the roots. In my experience, the amount of perlite or bark you get in a bag varies greatly. I prefer to go to the my local nursery to cherry pick a bag, but they don't carry the 1 gallon size. I've also noticed you get more mix from four 1-quart bags than one 1-gallon bag.

The mix appears to be very good quality. I'm using it for the first time, for a new snake plant, but from visual comparison to others I have used that are similar, I expect it will work out fine. Key feature is it is fast draining. Mixes like this are great for snake plants that should be allowed to dry before watering and then watered thoroughly. One gallon (the size I purchased) is not as large as you might be expecting once you see it. I filled an 8-inch ceramic pot and had some left over for a 4-inch plastic nursery pot. Your mileage may vary. The price is consistent with other similar premium potting mixes I have used. In my opinion it is worth it for the result one gets with the health and beauty of their plants.

Does what it says for drainage on potted plants. Great, easy to scoop mix but pricy for the amount of product in each bag.
