Fine design. WON'T STOP GOING TO SLEEP!
What doesn't work:The mouse goes to SLEEP every few minutes!!!!!You can wake it by clicking, however, that performs a click action!I read elsewhere on the net that someone else was having this problem, but it doesn't seem to be isolated, so I would be very careful. We're returning it and going to check out the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse - Black. Basically the same thing, but sounds like it has a 4-Way scroll wheel and I assume it's higher quality, AND hopefully it doesn't have the same stupid sleep behavior. I appreciate when electronics go to sleep after a while to save battery life of your precious alkalines, however, that should only happen after NO activity for AT LEAST 30 minutes. However, something like a mouse? I would say after 1-hour MINIMUM! So when you CLICK-TO-WAKE, not only are you waking up the mouse, or computer (some mice don't wake up computers) but you are performing a click-action! That means you just click on something you may not have wanted! In the days of one-click shopping, this is very, very uncool. I don't have a horror story about this, just noting the potential. Basically this renders an otherwise good (see below) mouse, UNUSABLE. We've tried to cope with this sleep behavior, but simply cannot. The design of this mouse is okay... haven't used it for very long, so can't complain or brag about it. A little awkward at first yeah, but overall an easy change-over from a normal mouse. Battery compartment is REALLY stiff to open up, but it does eventually, you think you're going to break the mouse though, a little nerve-wracking the first time you do it.The buttons are SUPER-SOFT, they are basically the easiest buttons to click on any mouse I've used in recent years. Some may like this, some may not. It IS possible to click them by mistake when lift-dragging to reposition the mouse. The scroll wheel on the one I got was kinda loose and cheap looking.*Note: We got the purple one (SFCM-1) AND don't mind the "TECHNICAL DETAILS" that amazon lists.... this is not a bag of 3D glasses or a video game... silly...

Great Mouse for the money!
I found this mouse on discount at Fry's and picked it up on a lark. I liked it enough that I picked up a second one as a spare. My system gets used both right- and left-handed, so I needed an ambidextrous mouse. And there are surprisingly few decent ambidextrous mice these days - even if the shape is ambi, they all seem to want to put buttons on the left for right-handed users. And the few I've found are never ergonomic. The tilt feature makes this mouse very comfortable to use. It's not as extreme as the vertical mice (which give me the same problem as a flat mouse - if I wanted that angle, I'd hook up a joystick), and can be used by either hand. The buttons are very sensitive, but not so sensitive they are hard to use. The wheel action is clean and crisp, but not a smooth scroll.I did notice that it has the tendency to go to sleep quickly, as the previous reviewer stated. No more of an issue than having my screen go to sleep after 5 minutes. I solved this simply by right-clicking to wake it.The ONLY thing I can really gripe about it the battery compartment is a bit of a pain to get open. Located between the top of the mouse and its pedestal makes it hard to pop open accidentally, however. It's simple, very usable, and very comfortable. It doesn't have the whistles and bells of some of the high end mice, it won't do your laundry, or make coffee, or any of those things that the excess buttons do. It's just a very nicely designed, comfortable mouse.
