The first thing I realised is there is no way to clamp the metal for bending, I had to buy 2 G clamps. Next I found that g clamps alone weren’t enough to stop the work piece sliding so I added some dowel pins. It worked ok on 1mm aluminium at 100mm wide but when I tried 0.8mm steel at 300mm wide the unit flexed and I didn’t get an even bend. The outer edges have a defined bend but it’s lost towards the middle. See photo. This will make it difficult to do a good quality job, I will still have to finish it with a hammer and anvil.

Seens sturdy enough during a test bend of a copper plate. The feet coukd be wider for better stability and to soread yhe liad on the bench. The biggest issue is that the pressure plate is just a loose item. Where other brakes have clamping screws through the pressure pkate, this one relies on you coming up with your own method of clamping it down. This can lead to either a) a reduction in the width of material it can handle to make room for the clamps at the sides or b) the pressure plate moving as you clamp it down and thus not betting aligned for the bend. Surely or would not have killed the manufacturer to drill and tap the body and the pressure plate and provide lock down screws? That's the first thing I am going to have to do to make it properly useable, otherwise accuracy will be very hit and miss. Would I recommend it? Well, if you want a cheap unit for one of or very infrequent work, then yes. If you want one to rely on day in day out then no. Spend extra and get one with clampdowns built in.

Ok this is a small and simple bending brake for small tasks. For the price I am very pleased with it.

The middle buckles out of shape when trying to bend a sheet of 1mm steel about a4 paper size. Just not strong enough. You get what you pay for
