Great for the price
If you're just trying to hold +/- .003" this thing seems to work fine. Beep is a little loud but I guess they are expecting it to be used in a loud machine shop. Make sure to get the 20mm collet for it since this is an uncommon size in the US. Test your unit with a gauge block when you get it to qualify it.

it will not fit a R8 Holder
The item is well built but the shank size is 20mm or a little over 3/4" and it will not fit a 3/4" R8 they should bring the size down to 19 mm or less.

This thing is pure junk
You need to modify it just to get the batteries to work. WTF

Seems to work well time will tell more
Arrived and works well after I figured out shaft has to be touching metal before the probe will work when making contact with a metal workpiece testing it holding in your hand will not work

Great Buy
Bought this edge finder a few months ago and have been using it on a bench top CNC mill. The main body of the sensor is 20 mm diameter so it fits in an ER32 collet. Using an ER collet in a Tormach TTS tool holder makes edge finder tool changes a breeze. The tip of the the edge finder is 10mm so it limits your probing to spaces that are larger than 10mm. The edge finder works very well and easily locates part edges, top surfaces. and hole centers within +/- 0.001 inches. The only draw back for me is that the overall length of this tool is fairly long so it takes up most of the Z axis travel on my small machine. Overall this is a great Buy and I recommend it to anyone who wants to automate the process of edge finding on a mill.

Not a precision tool
for starters the ball is undersize by .01 mm which throws all the measurements that follow off when determining tool centers. the ball itself has as much as 3 thousands total run out combined with the undersize Ball size makes it impossible to do accurate setups. now add in the fact that the batteries are an issue. Yes they are not included, however that is clearly stated in multiple places in the text and I have no sympathy for people who don't read it. but even so the battery holder is oversized is diameter for the batteries it has to contain they move around too much and don't line up properly. but it does work so I consider that a minor issue when compared to the inaccurate measurements. It could have been a great tool if they would pay just a little more attention to quality control.

Woorks Great!
Cheap easy to use edge finder! One of the best things about these edge finders is allowing me to pick up part without turning on the spindle, which makes this edge finder lot faster for picking up part offsets! Also, is spring loaded for allowing a small allowance for over travel.

I'm happy with it for the most part
This has been working for me but I can not say if it meets its specifications. I feel like it was a good deal for the money.I'm not happy with the non-standard battery they chose to design this around. For how large it is, they could have used an AA and a boost converter to make this work with a much cheaper/available battery.
