Great generator for size and class but louder than expected.
My initial comments for the MXR2850 Generator. I bought this to run LED Hanger lights and a small air compressor. There is not a break in procedure in the manual so I used recommendations from internet. I filled with oil, started and ran it for 45 minutes with no load, then 15 minutes with varied loads 700 watts to 1500 watts. I then changed oil again and ran again for 1 hours with varying loads and changed the oil again. I plan to start using normally now. Pros: Arrived fast 2 days, clean undamaged carton, packed well, all tools and manuals included, new with no gas smell in tank and empty of oil. Cranks 1st time each time I have cranked it. Runs Smooth, engine speed varies with load. Handles different loads well, from slow for running 300 watts for 25 led lamps in my hanger to starting and running a harbor freight 7 amp air compressor, to a 1500 watt heater. This is much better than my Duramax XP2200is which had problems with the compressor. Very light for wattage rating, is lighter than my Duramax XP 2200is it is replacing. Digital read out to confirm volts and frequency, also keeps up with run time. Oil changes are easy, no tools, spark plug and air filter appear easy also Cons: It’s is NOT as quiet as expected or hoped for. It louder than other inverter generators I own, a Honda 2200 and my DuraMax 2200. The noise appears to be exhaust so this may not have as quiet of a muffler as the others. This would NOT be a good choice for a campground but works for me as I am just powering hanger lights and occasionally a grinding wheel or compressor. NA: I don’t know about long term performance or seller performance as it has been too soon but the generator packaging and initial impressions are good.

Burns a ton of oil at only 200hrs.
Worked great until about 200hrs when it started hurnign oil and having idke issues. I did the breaknin procedure exactly as described in the manual and only run premium oil. Ive only had it for a few months, theres no warranty that i can find. Im Screwed out of $500 dollars.

Exceeded expectations during first four hours.
So far so good. I bought this because of the longevity of reviews on their products and I am pleased with performance thus far. Out of the box, it looks nice. My wife even liked the coloration (big win). for initial break-in, i chose Pennzoil traditional 10w-30. Filled with Non Ethanol 89 gas. took more pulls than I expected but backing off the bowl drain ensured that it had fuel in the carb and it fired right up. Initial bluetooth connection was wonky, but once connected, it worked decently. I wish i could see RPM in the app but the wattage readout is nice. Cycled it with the eco mode off with no load, then 800 watts, then stepped it up to the max I wanted it to run at. Hooked it to my 2013 Keystone and ran the AC. I believe it is a 13.5k BTU unit. spiked at 3200 and then leveled off at 1900 watts with the AC and Fridge running. PERFECT. Got about 4 hours of total run time cycling between the 1900 watt load and 300 watt load for 30 minutes each across one evening and then the next morning. Changed the oil and you could absolutely see the glittery break-in present in the oil. Refilled, Idled it a bit and put it away. one thing that caught me off guard is the shut down procedure. it will lower the RPM and then it almost sounded like it dieseled for a bit, but I think this is some sort of short purge it does as it did it consistently every time. It handled the load perfectly but at that load, it will use 20% of the fuel in 30 minutes. I will likely invest in that 12v pump to add a 5 gallon tank to it. why only 4 stars you ask? There was this loud vibration sound coming from the front of the unit. I could push down on the red panel and it would stop. Something was not tight in it. I ended up taking off the front panel and found that because of the plastic mounts that hold the inverter heat sink were not stable, it caused it to rattle against the front panel. it left some easy marks so I ended up applying a little double sided rubberized 3M tape to the red panel insides (left one side with the protective film on) and this solved the rattle. It was super easy to do though. Panels are easily removeable and this item looks very serviceable. I plan to give it 4 more hours with conventional oil and then swap to synthetic.

Light but powerful
This is a great little generator. It weighs about the same as my Honda 2200 and yet puts up 4000 W instead of 2000 additionally, it powers my whole travel trailer, including both air conditioners. I love it. It is slightly more noisy than the smaller Honda, but the power is worth it.

Excellent Choice
We have a camper out on vacant land and this generator is perfect. It has enough power to run our entire camper and is super quiet and easy to operate. Great price too! 😊
