Firstly, this is a very good product, but is let down by a poor instructional video (there are better ones available), and the provision of a pointless little flat-bladed screwdriver when the fob comes with two cross-head screws! I've given five stars because I am very happy with the end result (it is genuinely very nice) but be aware that you will need one or two cross-headed screwdrivers, some sort of blade or spudger to get the badges off, a punch or similar to get the pins out so you can swap the blades over, and a hammer to get the pin back in.

A little bit fiddly to install the battery contact pads - unlike the images these do not arrive pre installed. The screw holding in the battery is a very tight fit and not the best of quality. I'd advise finding a Philips screwdriver that fits the head perfectly to avoid stripping the head. It's not possible to use half of this key with half of the original as the it doesn't align correctly and the screws won't hold. Once installed and clipped together the key works great, a good cheap replacement.

So first, the good points: fairly cheap, fairly good feeling plastic/rubber button material and it's actually fully functional as long as your own fob's electric components are working fine. The bad points: 1) the plastic casing wasn't the best/most accurate, needed to chip away bits of excess plastic in order to accommodate the internal components. 2) video wasn't great, had to youtube other videos on how to disassemble the original fob. The Ford logo had to be removed from the previous key (carefully, SOME damage is inevitable I'm afraid) in order to open up the fob (not shown in this video) and that logo was then glued onto this case with the supplied double sided tape (yes the white plastic that comes with this case can be removed but also very annoying to pry it off, AND the wee pegs from the original fob doesn't fit the holes on this case so I had to widen the holes myself 😭😂) 3) the button that propels the key is very temperamental and ejects with the slightest pressure. Minor issue but when the key ejects so easily when it's in your pocket, it kinda gets on your nerves a bit.. Overall, if you're a cheapskate (like me) and don't want to pay loads to get the fob changed by a third party and you fancy a bit of a challenge, go ahead and give this a go. If you're not the most confident with handy work like this, I wouldn't bother as had to make so many adjustments myself with my own tools. Just buy an original Ford fob replacement (bit pricier) or pay even more to get someone else to do it. If assembled right, it does work. Good luck!

Used to freshen up and fix my stepdaughters car key. No issues at all.

Had to use half the parts of old key ie metal contacts. Had to cut away inside to make fit. Rubbish quality and poor fitting. Do not recommend

Very easy to transfer the circut board to the new key. My first doing it, delighted I was.

Easy fitted the original Ford key parts. Boot release button is a little stiff to press but hopefully that’ll loosen up with use. Other than that, spot on!
