I have these for keeping doors and gates open for emergencies. I have tested them out several times and they hold commercial doors open with no problem. The price is also right.

I work in EMS/ Fire and I use this almost every shift! We have a lot of apartment buildings that have double door entry that locks behind you. Our transport partners don’t always have the keys/codes so I use these so they can get it with no troubles. They are very flexible and fit a wide variety of sized doors. You can use them on the frame, in the hinge, over the locking mechanism, etc. I can’t attest to how they hold up to heat but I could see them being useful during primary searches of structures to make sure the door you come through close/lock behind you.My only complaint if the black rope that it comes attached too comes off easily even when tightened. I keep them attached to my radio strap so I’ve lost a few over the last year. I’m going to get large split key rings for each one and attach them to an S-biner. I’m also going to get embroidered “Do not Remove! Fire/EMS” labels to attach to them as well. I’ve had a few get removed and taken while we in the building with the patient.

These are so useful. If you’re looking at the tactical aspect, in my opinion they’re a must have. But can be useful for everyday life as well. Fairly flexible, multiple ways to use them.
