NOT COOC certified Product. New Destination Series produced from a number of different countries
The photo showed the original product which was the California Olive Oil Council certified product that California Olive Ranch used to produce, meant to be grown and bottled in California, but the items I were sent were their new Destination Series, which is NOT California Olive Oil Council certified and is produced by a number of different countries and only bottled in California.

Incorrect product received
I've received a different bottle to the one advertised - the picture shows it is California Olive Oil Certified (cooc) but the product received is not. Will re-buy if you have the cooc oil.

Great flavor

They make a very fine olive oil from California olives, of the usual mild flavor, and it is one of my three faves of that flavor type. But, for this robust blend, they use foreign olives, since the California olives are good, but not for the robust-loving types. I have only had one other robust olive oil this nice, and I can no longer find it, so I am glad to find this one. Of my three faves of mild olive oil, one maker also made a robust oil, but it was not good at all. That is the tricky thing with robust oils, more flavor, yes, but a lot of the flavors that become so very noticeable are not quite pleasant. With this oil, it is quite strongly flavored, but all the elements of flavor or yummy.

Many commicial oils say they are olive oil but are actually a blend. This is one of the few that is pure olive oil. And it tastes great. I love their garlic infused oil and their robust version as well. Terrific product

Well, I've listened to a book, could have read, but just listened to, "Extra Virginity" a not flattering book about the olive oil business. So then I started researching olive oils that were Consumer Reports and America's Test Kitchen reccommendations. Plus, Amazon ratings, as I remember were very good as well for this brand. We love it and, oh, forgot, check out UC Davis, they have an olive oil center there. As I remember this oil was OK or better there as well. That does not sound like an endorsement and I think they thought it better than very good, something like that. Anyway, we really love it and the best part is we're pretty sure it's from olives from California. Now after reading that book, this is a big deal to us.
