Coolest modular toolbox system on the market.
As an IT pro, I need to be ready to tackle a variety of projects on a daily basis. Keys to being successful and a true jack of all trades are to be organized and to be prepared. These LBOXX's are the coolest way to keep things organized and on the go. I'm not hunting for things in a big rolling box--I'm finding everything in it's place much more quickly. I use 5 of them right now, and they carry everything I need to tackle any project. Here's what works for me: LBOXX-3: Network patch cables, surface mount boxes, and USB patches and extension cables. LBOXX-1 with Insert Set: Fasteners of all types for mounting racks, cabinets, and wall-mount brackets. LBOXX-1 with Insert Set: Networking tools, jacks, plugs, test gear, and such. LBOXX-1 with Insert Set: Drill bits and driver sets for masonry, steel, wood, and assembly. LBOXX-2: Makita 18v LiOn drill/driver, 18v LiON impact driver, charger, and 3 batteries. They all stack and lock nicely, fit very well in the back of my RAV4. With my setup, this stack can get pretty heavy--a folding cargo dolly does the trick. Sure, they are a bit pricey, but the cost is easily offset by how much more efficiently I can work, how easy they are to transport, and how easy they are to rack in my storage area. If you have a cargo van, these are compatible with the Sortimo shelf systems (since they are made by the same company). You'll also find that some new Bosch tools are now packaged in these boxes, so they fit right in with your setup. Quality is very good, and the insert bins with some of the boxes give you a lot of flexibility with your storage needs. Very highly recommended!

Great product, better looking and higher quality than the competitive storage systems I have looked at.
These are pricier than a lot of the competing storage systems other tool companies have put out, but they are a quality product. I almost went with the Dewalt system, but I just found them too ugly to have taking up space in my shop. These have much more subtle branding and nice neutral color and I think they look great in my work area. Functionally they are sturdy, they snap together and apart easily and the storage insert makes this specific unit very useful for holding all sorts of miscellaneous smaller stuff. I use it for holding all my electrical connectors, wiring tools and millimeter and its perfect for the job.

Quality does not cost, it PAYS.
So tired of all my cheap Lowes box organizers. I though this IS outrageously expensive, but I'm on my third cheap screw/misc case so i finally bought this. I'm a professional contractor and I'm done with my stuff banging around. I'm buying all LBoxxes now. They are well designed and while I haven't had a lot of time with them, I'm happier already. If you are a homeowner the cost may not be necessary, but with all the decent manufactures of tool selling things "bare tool" now (at the same retail price that used to include a necessary storage box), you now need something. I don't know if this will be overpriced, but I do know being organized saves me money, I use ALL Bosch tools, I have had their drivers left out in the rain and puddles and they still work. I had an issue with one tool ONCE (some of my Bosch tools are 20+ years old). They fixed it and gave me a new battery for my trouble. I have spent over a hundred bucks on cheap crap that the hinges broke on. Cases have cracked and shattered with the first minor drop, and I am done. PRO QUALITY. Quality doesn't cost, it PAYS>

Nice box, but the cost is very steep for what this is
My tools were getting unwieldy and taking over the jobsite, and the clutter was getting to be no match for my mismatched storage boxes, bags, crates, cases, etc etc etc.– probably a familiar picture to anyone looking at this item. I fell in love with the idea of standardized, modular tool storage decided to give this a swing. My impressions are mixed. Overall, this is a very nice box. It is made in Germany. The plastic feels pretty weak, it's some kind of stiff nylon maybe 1.5mm thick, and on first blush you'd think it will fail within a week. In practice, it does prove to take a beating. I think engineering makes up for mass in this case, it has all kinds of interesting honeycomb patterns in the molding. Definitely a clever design. The lid has a little foam to hold everything in. The latches feel solid, as all-plastic construction goes. It's light. Really, it is a very nice box. But the price– yikes. If you're a mobile tradesperson who is moving groups of tools constantly and are very sensitive to the impression you are making on your clients, I could see this being a good solution. Alternately, if cost is no object to you, these boxes are unquestionably a fine choice. But if you're hoping to come out ahead financially using your tools, don't throw your mismatched cases and ratchet straps away quite yet. This system is crazy, crazy expensive. The boxes are costly, but the boxes are actually the most reasonably-priced part of the system. It's reasonably well made but not remotely as well as a Pelican case, which it costs about the same as. This is better made than your average blow-molded tool case, but it's still on that basic level. It is noticeably nicer than the Makita interlocking cases, and compares favorably to a Festool systainer in terms of build quality. But Festool throws in Systainers with every tool. Bosch, on the other hand, has absolutely no shame about pricing this system. Every possible aspect of the system costs a fortune. Tool trays are injection molded plastic barely 1mm thick, and yet they cost $30. Divider sets cost $30. Foam costs $20. This kills me, Bosch already has me for the premium tool, now the premium box, and they want to hit me worst of all for the plastic tray or the foam, which cost them perhaps a buck or two to make? $300 Bosch tools don't come with L-Boxxes, or even inserts for L-Boxxes. There's just no value-added proposition here whatsoever. This box is nice. I like it. I find the idea of this system very compelling, and the design delivers. But it is not the end-all-be-all of tool boxes, and having used this for a while, I find it impossible to justify the cost of buying a second one, let alone ten or fifteen more to hold everything.

8ah pro core batteries do not fit.
Typical Sortimo/Bosch construction. Works perfectly with your existing Lboxxes. 8ah and 12ah pro core batteries do not fit.

It’s a bunch of money for a box that holds a bunch of different little things. If you place value in uniformity and are invested in the L-Boxx system - it may be worth it for you.

Great to finally get the Bosch LBOXX-1A and to find that it was the newer series and not the older series as illustrated. The newer series Bosch Sortimo boxes have better handles in the front and an improved mechanism that allows you to open the box even with another box stacked on top.
