NICREW Slim Aquarium Filter, Quiet Fish Tank HOB Filters for up to 5 Gallon Aquariums, Adjustable Flow, 42 GPH, 3W

This NICREW filter is pretty decent. It's small and doesn't take up much space in my tank, which I like (I have a betta named Bubbles, she loves it). The filter does its job well enough, keeping the water clean and clear. I haven't had any issues with the flow being too strong or anything, though sometimes I wish it was just a LITTLE stronger, you know? Anyway, it's easy to set up and use. (I accidentally put the sponge in backwards at first, but it still worked fine). It came with everything I needed, so no complaints there.Overall, this filter is great for small tanks like mine. The adjustable flow is a nice feature too, although I don't really mess with it much. And hey, if you need to clean the media, it's super easy and quick to do. You can't beat that! Definitely would recommend this one to anyone looking for a reliable and quiet filter for their small aquarium.

Really love this filter! I bought it because I’d read somebody else claim it’s very quiet, and it is. You can hardly hear it running. It does a great job considering its size. I have the filter running on my 4 gal cube & it seems like the perfect amount of flow, but there’s a knob if you find it’s too much/little. I also love the built in motor style, because it feels like much less of a risk for spillage. I was impressed with the quality and thoughtfulness of this design, especially considering it’s only ~$10.

It's insanely hard to find a tiny HOB (hang on back) filter, especially one with flow control. I have a sponge filter in my 5.5 gallon, but I wanted a bit of flow without my sand being disturbed and this is absolutely perfect! I also love that it already comes with a tiny protector sponge on the intake (something I do with all my HOB filters for fish safety). It's even small enough to fit with my lid. Super quiet which is great because the tank its on is in my bird room. The price is fantastic in my opinion for what this is as well. I'll be ordering again for other small tanks in the future! Highly recommend

I don't normally write a bad product review. Normally, I just don't buy from the same company ever again. However, I think that this should be under the reviews so that people know. I ordered this item and at time of review, have had this hang on the back filter for 2-3 weeks or so. I woke up and checked and checked on my aquarium only to find water all over my hardwood floor and about 2 gallons of water missing from my tank. I look all over for the source as the water wasn't on the side of the tank or on the sides of the filter. I finally found a constant stream of water running down the electrical cord that runs the HOB filter. Luckily for me, I take precautions and there was no water near my plug. It was leaking where the cord meets the pump at the box of the filter. Buyer beware!! If you don't use drip cords or keep your plug at a higher location, this could be dangerous. If I was less competent this could have caused a fire. I would suggest this product to no one. It only got 1 star because I can't give 0 stars.

This little pump works fairly well. I have a turtle hatchling in a 2.5 gallon aquarium and it is just enough to keep the water almost completely clear. I would buy it again. It says it's rated for up to 8 gallons, but I don't believe I would use it in anything bigger than a 2.5 gallon tank. Other than that, it's a nice, quiet, filter/pump. The cost was nice too.

Great little filter. I am using it with a nano 3 gal tank and it works well, it's very silent and create a nice water circulation at max flow.The price is really nice too. I would buy it again.

This thing is sweet!Tiny, but powerful, and adjustable flow.Mines been running 2 weeks and zero issues.I have a 6 gallon, with 2 small tabletop fountain type pumps for circulation, in addition to this filter pump.This looks so much better and way more streamlined than my Fluval hang in back filter.I paid $10 for this. Can't beat it.

I had this filter for an entire year and some change and it worked great until it didn't. I just finished cleaning my tank and when I went to plug it back in, it failed to start up again.I had to buy another one because I still have extra filters to use up, but I'm gonna look for a better one soon.That being said, while it was working this filter was amazingly quiet and strong. It did a great job of keeping my tank clean and clear.Just because it died after a year, I can't recommend it but if your in a pinch it's not bad.
